Not at all like the photos on ebookers website. Booked a executive room, room looked absolutely nothing like the photos on ebookers. It was old and outdated, situation right above a function room so the entire room was vibrating. Wasn’t clean and just a total let down. Moved rooms to a room that was apparently cheaper and it was actually much nicer and newer !!

This hotel is nowhere near 4 star. Meant to have been deep cleaned ? don’t think it had been cleaned whatsoever. Dated and worn and tatty

Stayed for one night had a family lunch which was a not a good experience, food was just edible service was non existent. For a party of 13 we would have expected the food to be replenished and not that the chef serving us would leave halfway through carving the meat leaving us standing there waiting ,lucky for us the duty manager stepped in . I can only say the breakfast next morning was worse. We spent a lot of money at this hotel on food and drink expecting a nice family get together coming up from Devon for the occasion. I can say we will not be returning and would not recommend this hotel.

Hotel needs a bit of a spruce up. Seems outdated. Problems checking in - sent me to the wrong room that was already occupied, had to wait around for another room. Bedroom and bathroom were clean and spacious. Breakfast was ok. Generally disappointing for what is classed as a 4*hotel.

weekend away

Below what was expected. Creaky floor, shower very difficult to adjust (nearly called for assistance), window lock loose and difficult to close, bathroom fan very noisy (wife could not even reach switch). When we came to check out the receptionist asked for £168. When we said we had pre-paid they checked and found this to be correct. The problem was we paid you £198 !! ! How can the be ?

Stay in the upper floor rooms

Nice place, friendly staff. But had to change my room and there were too many creaky floorboard sounds coming from the room above. The restaurant service was average and the food portions a little meagre.
