Parking was inconvenient and expensive considering the Mayo Parking Ramps are free on the weekends. Also, the Kahler ramp was completely full when we checked in so had to park down the road. One of the blinds also didn't work properly so couldn't block all the light from surrounding buildings.

Nice for short stays

We received a good deal through the app which was great because many of the other hotels were fully booked and we were booking same day. Although the hotel is beautiful from an architectural standpoint, it’s showing its age. The room was fine. The thermostat was not working so we couldn’t adjust the temperature in the room. Always chilly. Bathroom was small. Our stay was only two nights so it was fine for that, but I wouldn’t recommend for longer stays. People service was excellent!

There is a lot to like about the Kahler Grand. It is perfectly located for convenient access to the Mayo Clinic. Everything you could possibly want or need is within short walking distance. The hotel is immense (very spacious) and well kept. I also enjoyed the fitness center, pool, hot tub, and sauna room during my week-long stay. I did experience two issues. One was the water in my room cycling between too hot and too cold most days. Wasn't sure if this was normal possibly due to an on-demand water heater or some setting that I couldn't figure out. I never said anything to the management. I just made it work and also used the shower by the sauna, which was usually consistent with the exception of one day when it only ran cold. The other complaint was when the local police explorers program hosted what seemed like hundreds of teenagers at the hotel for an entire weekend. The hotel was absolute chaos because the teens were involved in staged mock police drills. They were also running up and down the halls after-hours as well. A great program, I'm sure, but this was very inconvenient for guests seeking rest and recovery at the hotel in between appointments at the Mayo Clinic.

I stayed at Kahler Grand Hotel because it is convenient for Mayo Clinic visits. The hotel is old but they have done many renovations. There are a lot of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The staff was helpful and responsive. The AC in my room was not working well even after the maintenance guy said it was fixed. Thankfully, I travel with a small fan. The hotel needs to upgrade the quality of towels. Other than that, all was good.

Comfy beds and pillows. Nice variety of restaurants and shopping on site or within close walking distance. Only minor complaint is the walls seem to be thin..could hear voices and tv from next room. Also, the tv's are iutdadted. Would be nice to have smart tvs with streaming capability..all in all, a freat place to stah...wouldn hesitate to stay again
