Bait & Switch
Reserved, in early Sept., a specific unit in a 4 unit building. Several emails on Vrbo and with prop. Mgr. confirmed reservation. Upon arrival in late Sept. Prop Mgr had arbitrarily switched us to an unsatisfactory unit. Spent 2 nights in a hotel for $480 while searching for another place to stay. Notified Vrbo customer service of the problem and never received a response. Prop Mgr offered an alternative location for 2 weeks till the desired unit became available. Reluctantly moved in despite problems it presented for mobility challenged guest as prior commitments made remaining nomads untenable. After 2 weeks moved to the unit we had originally reserved. Later, talked to another guest who was experiencing the same issue with being assigned a unit at check in not reflected in his reservation.
The unit we reserved was in an excellent location and clean. The kitchen was adequate although the 2-burner hot plate never worked. The couch was falling apart and there were no chairs for the dining table.
