First off, I know it was New Year's Eve, but with the New parking rules in San Diego doesn't give the hotels the right to rip off the customers 😔 . And there hidden fees. Second of all the pictures you see on the website are a lie the rooms are beyond tiny, I felt so claustrophobic I thought I was going to die. My room didn't even have a window, I asked them to be moved to another room and they ignored me. Also the elevator was beyond an Antique not a place for older people. Place needs to be condemned. felt so cloclaustrophobic

Enjoyed our stay very much! Right in the middles of Gaslamp and very close to the zoo and Belmont park. The rooftop was beautiful and the rooms were very clean, loved aesthetic. Had a nice view of the city and of the quarter from our room. Staff was very nice and attentive! Definitely recommend

As pictured the room was quite small, but cozy and cute! I’m all for aesthetic stays and historical elements, but the cleanliness was not up to par. There was hair left in the shower, scratched up walls, and some kind of smell in the room upon arrival. Aside from that, the bed was super comfy and sheets were crisp and clean (thank goodness). Unfortunately the little things like slight stains on the robes, towels, and shower curtain will make you feel quite uncomfortable on a vacation. Wouldn’t recommend for those of us who are used to luxury, but nice if you need a quick stay and won’t be in the hotel too much. Side note: there are hardly any windows in the rooms so you may feel claustrophobic. Not the type of hotel you stay in for long periods of time. But the lobby and diner were beautifully decorated and we still had a lovely time, staff was kind! Fun for a quick trip, it’ll do the trick. But not recommended for long stays.

We had a wonderful visit. Absolutely nothing to complain about, we did have a little hiccup with our room but the customer service at the front desk were willing to make it right and were beyond amazing as they went above and beyond to correct it. The showers and bed were very pleasant. It was very loud being that its location is in the Gaslamp District which is party town, they keep the building safe and never felt uncomfortable. But it is loud out there at night.

First time staying at this hotel and it was so cute! Definitely had that boutique/old fashioned feel which I love. If you’re used to more modern places I suggest you choose another place to stay. The only down part was our ac didn’t work the best. Other than that rooms were very clean bed was comfy and front desk & valet were super attentive.

The room was very clean and all the staff were very friendly. The dinner at St. James diner was bistro was delicious. My only objection with the hotel was that it was not clearly stated that there was no working window or way to get some ventilation into the room so it got very stuffy very fast.
