Fool me once…

On a couples getaway and decided to try somewhere new that offered breakfast with your stay. Check-in was super slow and this is where I was told breakfast wasn’t free if you book your room online. I showed the guy where the hotels.com page says breakfast was included. He said it was wrong and if I wanted breakfast it would be $20 per person. Wasn’t too happy about that. Has more of an old school vibe. Room was ok but the glass shower door was missing and was replaced with a very cheap shower curtain. It didn’t keep the water inside which made the floor outside the shower very wet.

It was ok, but for how expensive the room was, it was not worth the price of $392. There were dirt scuffs on the low walls as well as nail holes. Very noisy upstairs activity, so it was difficult to get to sleep. We noticed the door was left a jar when we arrived. It was an underwhelming overall experience. 🙁

We love this cute little spot! We've stayed here twice now and it's truly a best kept secret! I love the mountain feel to it. The rooms are super cozy and comfortable and they always keep the light on for us when we arrive late. My favorite spot in Cambria.

Upon arrival, I felt the front desk staff was more focused on chatting with each other than acknowledging guests waiting to check in. I don’t recall the gentleman’s name I spoke with—he wasn’t rude, but his demeanor came across as a bit sassy rather than welcoming. That said, the property itself was peaceful, surrounded by beautiful nature, and made for a very relaxing stay. While the rooms are somewhat outdated, they were comfortable enough. Overall, I would return for the tranquil setting, but I hope for a friendlier reception from the staff next time.

Expansive property with a variety of lodging options ranging from two-story buildings, motel-like, to individual bungalows: duplexes and singes. 257-step walking trail leads down from the far end of the property, which borders a forested and poison oak-draped flora, to Burton street below. Burton offers a variety of stores and restaurants. Convenient. Also easily accessible by car. Quaint, quiet, well-kept lodging facilities.
