Photos make the rooms look nicer than they actually are, seems much older/worn down where I was. The room we got felt more like a college dorms room than a hotel room. The bathroom floor had mold/mildew, the tv remote was covered in gunk, and it was just apparent that the cleaning was not the most thorough. Maybe the standard rooms don’t get as good of care as the nicer rooms available. Not much near the hotel in terms of activities/restaurants and you need to walk 10-20 minutes. or take transit to get anywhere of note. It works if you just need a place to sleep for the night. Ive stayed in cleaner and better kept motels.

Won’t be staying there again. Our room wasn’t ready when we first arrived but were happy to come back later. Room still wasn’t available until almost 2.30. Breakfast wasn’t the best. Catering more for Asian clientele and no fresh fruit or yeasts etc. paid for 2 coffees at the reception and they were the worst coffees and we returned them as they were terrible. Bought 2 sandwiches from reception as we were going on a tour on our last day and there was no where to buy lunch. The sandwiches were so dry and expired tomorrow but think they had been there for sometime. We threw them out. Restaurant has limited meal options too. Very disappointing. Definitely will find somewhere else to stay when we next come to Sydney.

Positives: Good proximity to city and transport. Decent sized room compared with some other Ibis hotels. A couple of annoying things: no plug for either the vanity basin, or the sink in the kitchenette. Aircon was noisy, even on "low" fan setting, and even after turning the unit off completely, it turned itself back on a few hours later.

Served the purpose

Conveniently located for a show at the State Theatre with a 10 minute walk or so to the venue. Room was quiet and bed was comfortable. Self checkout very convenient as was the ability to store bags for a few hours. Good value by Sydney standards.
