I found this property cheaper than the others in the area and I was looking for a short term stay so I chose this. It was in line with my expectations for the price offered. My only suggestion would be that the rooms (especially the linen) could be a little cleaner. Otherwise, I was reasonably satisfied.

We enjoyed how close to the city centre it was. Only about 5 minutes away. Affordable and a good place if you're looking for a quick stop over in Taupo on your travels.

The linen was lovely - crisp and clean. The beds were clean and comfy and the towels were fluffy and clean. The kitchen and bathrooms were modern and clean. The service was excellent - we were able to switch to an end chalet. The staff were very helpful. The couch and carpets had stains but the property was very clean and the price was really good considering we had a 2 roomed chalet. (I had stayed at a 1 bedroom air bnb that had a pull out couch in the lounge which was clean but very uncomfortable- and it was more expensive), If I had to choose between them - the Granduer wjns - for bed comfort, linen, price, and location.

Photos are outdated. Property was unkept. In saying that, this is a good place to stay for short stopovers, and ok for longer stays if you intend to be out of the hotel for most of the day.

This place is not as advertised and was so bad we did not stay there. After seeing the room we immediately returned the key. I will be requesting a refund it was so poor. Room was old, unclean and musty smell. Also very few furnishings so very basic compared to other options in Taupo.

Normally I would say to take the bad or moediocre reviews with a grain of salt, but for this one, trust them. It is an average hotel and you get what you pay for. We could hear our neighbours extremely early in the morning and somehow the roof creaked when people walked on the porch. One of our towels was dirty so I just avoided that one, but the bed was clean and the dishes too.

Old quaint buildings; located outside of the township, with lovely big spaces; a playground for children, plus an outdoor swimming pool; very country and sort of cowboy but without the horses. Enjoyed our stay here.

Terrible place! The place is not what it looks like in the photos. The photos must be 10years old. The place is run down. A backpackers would be a better option. There was old blood stains on the bedding and the mattress. The carpet have not seen a vacuum or a clean in a very long time.

The bed is comfy, and that's the best feature. You literally get what you pay for, which isn't much, but it does the job if you just need to sleep
