Good value and comfortable

For the price, I would rate this hotel as very good value for Tokyo - I paid approximately £53 a night for a single occupancy room. I also liked the location - central in Shinjuku but away from the very bustling centre - close to public transport and on the edge of Tokyo's small and rather cool gay district with lots of bars and restaurants nearby. There is nothing fancy about the hotel - the decor and furnishings are rather dated and dreary. But everything is well kept and clean and the reception staff are very friendly and helpful. As for the room, I had a double bed which was pretty comfortable and reception were happy too provide an extra pillow, and the window let in plenty of natural light. The attached bathroom cubicle was extremely compact but fine. The free breakfast is very limited but was very welcome - it's basically boiled eggs, breads, butter and jams, and juice and milk and coffee. I brought my own cereal and used the milk to pad it out a bit. All, in all very happy with my choice - especially considering the price.

Recommended for one night stay, Not longer.

Pros: Good location, 10 mins walk from Shinjuku station (if you know how to get there on foot, otherwise it may take you longer time to get there ).

Cons: breakfast, especially choices of breads

Tiny room but ok for one night. Would not recommend for a long stay. We moved to Hotel Plumm in Yokohama (35 mins by train from Shinjuku) which is very much cheaper and room size is twice as big !, and breakfast is delicious.
