I’ll start by saying that I traveled from the US, and compared to American standards, the hotel was decent. However, during my stay in Japan, I stayed at several hotels, and this one was both the most expensive and the least impressive in terms of service. I had no issue with the room being small—I expected that. But the service was disappointing. There was no bottled water in the room, which, for a hotel of this size, should be standard. It rained several times during my stay, and when I asked for an umbrella, they told me I could only buy one—they didn’t offer any complimentary options. When I inquired about a bathrobe, which is common in most Japanese hotels, they simply said they didn’t have any. What bothered me the most was their strict policy against sending staff upstairs for any request. Every time I needed something and called the front desk, I was told to come down from the 9th floor. These may seem like small inconveniences, but given the price I paid, the overall experience was disappointing.

Third time staying at this hotel and it was great as always! Staff is overall friendly, helpful, and professional. Room was tidy and presentable. Location is next to subway station and near restaurants and convenience stores. Short walk to main Shinjuku hub as well! Staff was also helpful enough to book a taxi to Haneda airport for me. Only recommendation I’d have for the hotel compared to others is it would be nice to have a complimentary water included in the hotel room. But overall, another great stay and I highly recommend!

Great value in mid-March

Stayed here middle of March. Great hotel for the price. Double room is NOT micro which is often the case in Tokyo unless you are willing to pay over $200 USD. I will try to stay here again in the future.

The hotel’s dryer was not very good. I had to dry my clothes about 3 times in the machine for my clothes to be fully dried. However, breakfast was so delicious, and staff was amazing and helpful. We also had a train station right around the corner, which was very convenient. Overall, a great experience at Sotetsu Fresa Inn Higashi Shinjuku.

Good location

The location is very convenient. There is a station next to the hotel which is well connected and can get tourist sites quickly. Very walkable location too if you like to take your time.

the room they gave the bathroom flooded when you use the bathtub, so they move us to a different room, they on the last day i have to ugrade in a bigger room because my daughter is staying with us and same thing happened the bathroom floor flooded again when we use the bathtub.. not good experience…
