Rooms reserved for large group of loud people
The hotel was part of a hospital at one time and the main entrance was clearly a former ambulance drop off. I actually thought i had incorrect address initially. So you enter the ER aka lobby...very nice, new, clean, friendly. The room was very clean, nice, all good on night 1. Then night 2, an enormous group from a loud, unbearably loud, " social club"..is what I will call them out of fear.
The entire hallway on mult floors filled with cigarette smoke. I was accommodated and moved to a different floor. However, it was worse on the next floor and loud. The lobby became filled with dozens and dozens of loud people openly drinking walking around and gathering infront of the exit and lobby. They seemed to overwhelm the staff and entire facility. I actually felt unsafe and left the hotel that evening. It was extremely uncomfortable. I filed a claim with mariott and the Delta property refunded my second night. The staff was in total agreement with me and stated that the " social group" was not truthful about the number of people in their party and showed up with an inordinate amout of additional members, unplanned for. Additionally they property would now be tasked with cleaning all rooms that had smokers, the entire property is posted as smoke free d/t its proximity to the University of Toledo medical campus.
Other individuals made it impossible for me to stay at the hotel. From now on, i will ask if any hotel reserv. For " this social group" :(
