I stayed at many Sandman hotels and I'll never stay at this one ever again. The hallway leading up to my room was filthy. Inside my room the rug needed to be vacuumed there was a used metal fork under the tv. Inside the bathroom there was black hair around the tub. Management should take a walk on different floors now and then to see the condition of the rooms and hallways. I will never return to this hotel!!!

The room was clean and met our needs for a one night stay. However, the bifold door on the closet was not working properly. And upon arrival there were no baggage carts available to take our suitcases to our room.

To be honest the room was underwhelming, especially for a "Signature" level hotel. It was dirty, there was dust on top of things, the headboard was filthy, the carpet was pulled up and stretched and the closet door was broken and the bathroom mirror and backsplash were in need of repair/updating. The largest issue was that the HVAC unit for the room did not work and was quite noisy. The control panel on the unit itself was broken and the wall control panel was ineffective. Normally, I would have addressed the issue at the time and asked for a rom change, but we were in town for stressful medical appointments for my daughter and we could not deal with that at the time due to everything else going on, so we just ignored the room as best we could. I've stayed in many lower tier hotels that were at least cleaner and were everything worked as expected. Based on this experience, I'll stay elsewhere next time I'm in Richmond.

The staff were great. Room was clean. The restaurant was also good. Only negative is the cigarette smell in the hallway outside our room. When I stay again I will ask for a room on a higher floor.
