Quite a pungent smell of mould in both the room and the external bathroom. Good size but a bit dark and dingy. Great location particularly when arriving by train.

This place didn’t have a property manager on site so I can’t gauge the customer service, but we met the cleaning lady and said it was okay to check in an hour early because she finished cleaning the place. Location and rooms were accommodating.

Good, central accommodation for the price

Good central accomidation. Although no view, the space with two bedrooms worked well for a small family. 5 minute walk from the train station. 5 minute walk to great brewrey Il Santo Bevitore.

Great central location but lovely and quiet!

Great location. Lovely and clean. Central location, great for St Marks Square and Rialto Bridge. Had everything we needed and nice to have access to Netflix too!

Good position although the fish smelling street in the morning. Big rooms with kitchen, but uncomfortable bed. Toilet paper was not sufficient. Generally ok but not the best

Location was great for us. Not far from train station. We were able to drop our bags off as we arrived mid morning. Communication with property was excellent, knowing what time we arrived in Venice, we were sent information on what to do on arrival to gain access to the property.

An adequate place to stay in Venice.

Very good location. Friendly landlady. You could leave your luggage before check in and after check out. Complete kitchen, but you couldn't put anything in the freezer because it is thickly iced and needs defrosting. Limited toilet/shower amenities. Darkly lit shower room. The passage alley Sotoportego Cà Pozzo is smelly and needs some cleaning (this is not the fault of Porta Orientalis). Noises and heavy footsteps from occupants on the floor above could be annoying at night (this is also not the fault of Porta Orientalis). Note: This is an unattended facility, so expect no service staff, just a contact phone number, the rooms are upstairs and there's no lift, and expect no daily housekeeping (these were described on the booking site).
