The front desk attendant that checked me out was an amazing person. She was well spoken and very kind; however, I had problems out of the male front desk attendant when asking to be switched rooms. I later discovered that the room that I had been placed in had a broken latch. When I arrived at my room from work my second day there I discovered that I could just enter my room without a key. I also encountered my balcony door being left unlocked and I didn’t do that. I remembered locking it before I left! I have a habit of securing all doors in my living area. Also there’s was a sign at the front desk that said if you have certain credit cards your security deposit will take 2 weeks to be returned. Which is not posted on the website. The room was pretty clean and I loved the view. Minus that it was pretty quiet but I clearly couldn’t enjoy myself anymore after I found out my room didn’t properly lock.

The property is in an excellent location, and the overall condition is satisfactory. However, there are areas that could use some touching up (i.e., light fixtures that don't work, elevator flooring, smells, exterior walkways, etc.). I would stay here again, but it could use some TLC here and there. It could be that it is off-season, which would be the perfect time to spruce up some areas when there are not a lot of guests. I would give this hotel an average rating but wasn't really expecting much more as I know this property has been here for a while.

Serene views

Our room and bath were clean and comfortable. Linens on the beds were attractive and well presented. The public spaces were in need of a deep clean, especially the elevators. The view was exceptionally inviting and serene. We will plan a return visit.

I enjoyed everything about this property except that the last night. The people that checked in had their music on very loud and we had to get up at 3:30 a.m. for our flight. I did call the front desk, and the woman on duty did attempt to resolve the issue. However, the noise still continued so my son asked if we could move to another room which our request was granted. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We'll be back.

Checked into the Schooner Inn, they advertise free parking which is a plus but not a requirement to stay at a hotel, we drove separately to meet there, at check-in they informed that it is one parking spot per room, this is the middle of winter (27 degrees at the time), there were and still are only 10 total cars in the parking lot, and. they refused to allow a 2nd car. There are 50 plus empty parking spaces, but they said I was required to move the 2nd car and suggested the city garage 7 blocks away, at 27 degrees. I offered to pay a reasonable $30 overnight fee but was not accepted. It was a non-refundable room reservation, so in order to see how ridiculous the management was I indicated that this may be an issue, where they said they would refund the room charge, in the middle of winter, and not allow us to use one of the 50 open spaces. The Schooner Inn obviously does not need the money in the dead of winter, there are so many other accommodating places to stay.

We did not leave food out and were extremely clean and ants were everywhere in the bathroom on the night stand all over the walls. We told the desk attendant on day 4 out of 7 and nothing was done. The Kitchen area had so many I spent one of the nights cleaning the counter non stop then went and bought ant killer. The sheets also will not stay on the mattresses. And the construction work starting every morning at 7:30 am on the adjacent rooms was so pleasant also.
