Location is good, is very close to train station(5 mins walk), and not far away from restaurants and shops. Staffs are friendly. But the hotel feels shabby and cheap, especially the room decor and the furniture. No problem if you just want a place to sleep for a night

Single Traveller

I stayed in a single room at the Bristol Hotel for 6 nights in April and would happily stay there again. The room was clean, serviced daily, had a kettle with tea/coffee/sugar available and I found the bed very comfortable. The room is compact but I was not in it most of the day so I had no need of a large amount of floorspace. There was a notice in the room indicating Swiss environmental guidelines restricts operation of air conditioning to within certain temperature parameters. This didn’t bother me as I left the window of the bathroom open a little overnight anyway to keep some fresh air circulating. The daily continental breakfast was tasty and filling and all the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in both the superior quadruple room and the standard double room. The former is excellent and we give a five-star rating for that stay. However, when we changed to the front/street side double room, it is not as nice as the previous one at all. Of course, the front desk staffs are always very friendly and courtesy. The problem is that the front side is not as quiet as the back side. To be fair, for the most of the night it was pretty quiet. But there were just a couple of cars whizzing past the street below Very early in the morning, like 5 o'clock, enough to waken us. The bigger problem is the sewage smell always come out from the bathroom. I believe there is a problem with the U-shaped pipes or something.
