Amazing stay

Amazing Stay – We Will Definitely Return! We had a wonderful time at Plakias Resort! The location is stunning, the atmosphere peaceful, and the staff very kind and helpful. Our room was clean, spacious, and perfect for a relaxing holiday. The pool area was lovely and the beach just a short walk away. The only thing we missed was some evening entertainment – we couldn’t find an entertainment team or any organized activities during our stay. Also, while the food was decent, there is room for improvement in variety and taste. Still, overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and are already looking forward to coming back!

A wonderful experience for entire family. The facility and the entire experience was really good. Property is well managed, very helpful staff and extremely welcoming. We will absolutely stay again if at all possible.

Could have been better

The staff were very friendly and helpful. But the resort was directed to the German clients. The information book was all German, as were the instructions to use the equipment in the rooms and the tv was mostly German language.

Rough start but overall a nice stay

Are check in was rough. We got there late and the people were not sure about a couple of things. We needed and extra cot and it was actually in room and we did not see it and they did not tell us where it was. Also the hot water tank needed to be turned on for hot water and we were not informed of this and when we asked about hot water the man still did not inform us how to get it. The linen was dirty on bed. They accommodated clean linens when requested. After the first evening everything went well. The pools are very nice and the beach was great. Very close and umbrellas and chairs for us. Not crowded at all. Location is great. Very close to the town center. THe rooms are not fancy but all we needed. The woman at the front desk during the day was extremely helpful with where to eat and local information.

Great family resort

Plakias Resort is a great family location. Very clean, spacious two bedroom unit with large balcony overlooking the courtyard. The courtyard has two good-sized pools and is beautifully landscaped. We were there in late May and the beaches and pools were a little too cold to swim it. The unit and resort are well maintained and there is an all day and night front desk. The employees were all very helpful and friendly. There is an OK restaurant within five minutes walk of the resort. You can also walk 20 to 30 minutes to the center of Plakias town and there are a number of good restaurants; many on the beach. Just outside the town, there is a grocery, bakery and butcher. A car is definitely recommended as Heraklion is two hours drive away and most sightseeing is a drive. This is definitely good quiet place for a family to hang out.

Bad staff; bad advertising

The studio room is advertised as having a balcony/patio with a sea view. This is not true as we found out when we stayed here; the studios might have a pool view but none have a sea view. The staff here are very rude and quite odd. The internet connection here is not very good either. The beds are very firm and thin, making for an uncomfortable night's sleep.

My second time was as good as my first!

Great spot if you are looking for a resort style hotel. They do an all inclusive price but I would suggest you get outside the hotel to get the authentic Greek Taverna experience. There are great spots on both sides of the hotel. The staff here is very sweet and professional. This was my second experience at The Minoan Palace and I look forward to another stay next year. A special thank you to the night bartender and the girls who run the spa. The building itself is a little dated but it is very well maintained and overall very clean. Great breakfast as well.

Nice hotel, close to beach

Modern and well equipped apartments with air conditioning. Near the eastern (naturist) end of the Plakias beach, so about 15 mins walk to town. We stayed in a standard apartment and it had full kitchen equipment, sunbeds, front and rear sitting areas and was clean and modern. The 2 pools and separate children's pool were well maintained and never crowded. A basket of fruit and a bottle of (local) wine were waiting for us on arrival, which was a nice welcome. Staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay and we would certainly go back there.
