This hotel needs to update its entertainment. The beds are not comfortable also. The staff are very helpful not enough staff working in the bar on an evening.

Comfortable hotel out of the main town

Pros: Room Shuttle bus Location Brakfast
Cons: Temperature of the Jacuzzi
Location: Off peak many of the smaller restaurants were close but there was enough choice close by and also in the main town to suit all tastes.
The Baia Grande was a welcome break for my mum and I. The room was of good quality the breakfast ample and varied for every taste. It was in a nice location out of the main town and very quiet. A 45 minute walk down to the marina or just over an hour in to the old town. In the other direction about 40 minutes to Guia beach which is stunning. We enjoy walking so it was perfect for us. Car hire was relatively cheap if you wanted to get about more and there is plenty to do and enjoy even off peak. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and they were happy to provide all sorts of information and offer the shuttle bus to and from the town or beach. Overall a lovely place to stay and wonderful break.

Quiet

A nice hotel, would recommend if you want somewhere quiet. We were B&B, breakfast was good, we eat once in the evening, it was ok but in my opinion expensive! We had a hire car so eat out the rest of our stay.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Good location

Pros: Friendly staff, nice quiet hotel with good access routes if you have transport.
Cons: GET RID OF THE COFFEE MACHINE!!!! Some staff could be more friendly.
Location: Quiet location. Local access to beach. not far from main urban area, Some other restaurants close by along with some shops.
The staff who met us on arrival were friendly, helpful and professional. The majority of staff were fantastic, however some of the staff could learn to be more friendly and approachable, and even smile. The manager who met us was fantastic, I forget his name (bald guy with glasses) who arranged for a bottle of Champagne on ice in our room the following day after he had seen that it was my wife's birthday on the passport. A very nice surprise to come back to. The food was great, but quite expensive as were the beverages. Don't drink the coffee from the coffee machine, it was absolutely disgusting. The young man in the bar was very friendly and helpful, however some of the older bar staff never cracked a smile the whole time we were there. The location was great, but I would recommend you hire a car when you book, they're quite cheap, to get around, although there is a shuttle service available. If you are younger, and looking for a lively time, this is not place for you, tends to be an older crowd, I felt quite young at one point, but excellent if you want a quiet holiday with great views. Overall a great stay.

Excellent resort

The hotel is excellent in all aspects, except for the fact that it does not have free wifi in the rooms. Otherwise, very recommended in any other aspect.

Shirley Valentine getaway holiday.

The hotel was lovely, spotlessly clean with very accommodating staff. The young lady who ran the pool bar and the gentleman who ran the piano bar were particularly pleasant and helpful. I had a really relaxing week which was I wanted. I would recommend the hotel unreservedly.

great relaxing hotel

the hotel is in a quiet area , there are a few good restaurants close by , there are four small beaches within a ten minuite walk all with small restaurants/ bars the hotel its self is very clean , the rooms are a good size with large bathrooms and good facilties,the piano bar as lovely views over the large pool area and over the sea, it serves very good cocktails ,wine and beers we only had breakfast at the hotel this was good ,buffet style with reasonable choices of hot and continental food ,there is also a pool bar that does hot and cold snacks at lunch time ,there is a shuttle bus from the hotel that takes you in to the old town that runs several times a day and is free, over all the staff are friendly and helpful ,and we would definatley return again

Average hotel, but could easily be much better

The hotel is comfortable and the staff are fantastic. However some basic problems. ***Good points*** - Room was comfortable. - Staff are very helpful and friendly. - Breakfast was pretty good for the cost. - Plenty of space to laze around the pool (it was april before easter though). - Its outside of Albufeira, but that makes it quieter. - about 10 min walk to the beach. ***Bad points*** - The carpet in the room was stained and dirty, not good for first impressions. The pool also needed to have a scrub. - They have music in the piano bar, that's fine. But there is no extra sound insulation for any of the rooms near the central open well above the bar meaning we got loud music until about 11pm most evenings. - They make you pay for everything extra. That includes to use the room safe, room internet (wifi only in the reception), even 50c to call a taxi. - The indoor pool is tiny. Not representative of the photo.
