"My stay at Akra Hotel started off a little rocky after a rough flight and an over three-hour delay. After such a long travel day, I was hoping for a welcoming and seamless arrival, but unfortunately, the check-in experience added to the frustration. Before arriving, I received an email inviting me to complete a fast check-in, including waivers that required my signature. However, once I arrived, I was told that the online process didn't really matter and that I still had to go through the entire check-in process. After an exhausting day of travel, that was disappointing and felt like an unnecessary step. The check-in line also lacked structure. I was waiting behind two gentlemen, with a woman standing to my right. When the guest at the counter finished, the staff member didn't indicate who was next. A person who had just entered the hotel walked up and was assisted before those of us who had already been waiting. It may seem minor, but after a three-hour flight delay and a long travel day, it was frustrating. Once I received my room key, however, my experience improved considerably. My room was clean, comfortable, and had exceptional views. I had also selected a room that included access to the Urban Chic Lounge on the 10th floor, which I was looking forward to enjoying. Unfortunately, my experience in the lounge left me with an uncomfortable feeling that I can't ignore.
