Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Athens

Small boutique hotel in the heart of Athens with clean, modern rooms and an excellent restaurant. Our room didn't have a window, but since we spent most of the time out exploring the city, it wasn't a problem. There was plenty of light in the room and the tall ceilings made the room seem even larger. The hotel staff were most accommodating in getting us taxis/ transportation when needed around town or to/from airport and cruise port.

I would certainly not consider this a 4-star hotel as it could benefit from some updating and modernization. The hallway walls and carpeting appeared worn and I didn't like the lack of separation between the toilet/shower and the room. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is also in a great location —just a short walk to the Acropolis with plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby.

From the warm welcome by staff from the moment you enter (thank you Nisa, Nikos and team), this felt like the most comfortable place to stay in Greece. The hotel is ideally located, attractive and very clean, and my room felt more spacious than usual hotels. Breakfast was delicious, promptly served and fairly priced. The aptly named Gem is a total winner.

Excellent value and location

The location is incredible. Walking distance to everything - including most of the trendy bars and restaurants. Bed was so comfy and the shower pressure fantastic. Having a balcony was a great way to wind down in the afternoon and escape the sun for a bit. Really nice staff.

The hotel boasts a fantastic location, being just a short walk away from all the major tourist attractions and the shopping square. While we found the breakfast selection to be lacking and not up to par, we recommend considering dining options elsewhere for your morning meal. Aside from this, the hotel itself is truly excellent!
