What a hidden gem! Beautifully positioned amongst nature with fabulous views. Our room was spacious, clean, bright and airy with a gorgeous outlook towards Auckland city. The bathroom was luxurious. The restaurant served very nice meals for dinner and breakfast and friendly wait staff. We only booked for one night but would have loved to stay longer. Great spot to explore the nearby beaches of Piha and Bethels

I loved the quiet surroundings. The staff were excellent - very friendly and accommodating. The bed was really comfortable. The room was excellent - spacious and had everything I needed. 2 small things I didn't like - the fridge needed a clean and so did the drawer in the bathroom.

We stayed in one of the two apartments. It smelt damp, the bed was very hard and uncomfortable and the couches had stains on them. Unfortunately the beautiful view didn't make up for that and the sauna didn't seem to ever get to temperature.

Had a good time, there was an old biscuit that was under one of the beds and there was ants and a blow fly but the service and food was great I really enjoyed my getaway the workers were very nice and Im definitely coming back again

We stayed in one of the cabins, was very private although the unit smelt very musty during our 2-night stay. There are no lights (bulbs have been taken out) on the driveway, so very dark walking from restaurant back to our cabin in the evening, could easily have walked over the bank as you cannot see anything

The rooms and property are run down. Room had torn curtains, holes in the ceiling, and stained bath towels. My room was above the restaurant and could hear constant loud noise of them cleaning the kitchen until almost 2am. Staff was excellent however

This is an older hotel that's absolutely full of character and should be enjoyed for what it is. We totally loved our stay there and will definitely be back. It's in a stunning location, the staff are all super friendly, it has a great restaurant overlooking Auckland, and the rooms are comfortable. It's not perfect and that's part of its charm, but it is unique and fun.
