Great hotel right in the middle of Chinatown

Second stay at the hotel and again it was brilliant. The staff were helpful and the rooms were spotless. Free minibar always a great bonus. The free airport transfer was also timely and smooth. Thanks guys!

Truly Beautiful Hotel

We only had a two night stay here, but I came back in love with this hotel, it really is just so beautiful. You walk inside & the smell is divine & carries throughout the whole hotel. Check-in into the hotel was quick and painless. The bedroom was gorgeous, I was staying with a friend in a twin room, we had a four poster small double bed each and there was plenty of space in the room. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was rather quirky. As soon as we arrived, we put our bags in our room and came down to bar area to eat, we had ordered a rice and fish dish and after eating a few mouthfuls we realised that the rice had meat in it. The staff were very apologetic, out food was re-ordered without meat and our bill was discounted. The staff went out of their way to make sure that we were okay after that. I recommend the spa, I had a coconut scrub and it was great and smelling even better, I came out feeling so relaxed, so much so that I just put my head down for a quick five minute powernap and didn’t wake-up until the next morning. We did go down to see what was in the restaurant for breakfast, but it was very limited and a little disappointing. We went outside the hotel and walked into a neighbouring hotel who had a huge buffet breakfast and ate here instead for the same price. I most definitely recommend staying here, even if it is just for one night, you really need to see this hotel, it really is just like the photos and doesn’t disappoint.

Beware the concierge / front desk sales

It's a shame I have to leave a negative review, as the hotel itself is ok (nothing special, but perfectly comfortable) and the staff within the hotel are generally friendly and pleasant. Rooms had only heavily frosted glass so it's not possible to see outside. However, BEWARE THE CONCIERGE AT THE FRONT DESK. We hired a driver for a one-day tour of the floating markets and train market for 3,000 Baht (around GBP 75) (for 4 people) from the front desk. We were specifically told that for the floating markets, hiring a boat was entirely optional. However, the driver took us to some stalls before the floating market, where (in the driver's presence) the person to whom the driver directed us wanted a further 3,000 Baht (GBP 75) for us to enter the floating markets by boat. When we protested and said we don't need a boat and would rather drive to the floating market, we were told "It is not possible for you to enter the market. Your driver does not have an official tour badge. You will not be able to enter the market." Fortunately for us, I had already done my research and knew that it's perfectly possible to get to the market by regular bus from Bangkok and to walk around the market. The driver and his designated contact (who spoke perfect English) claimed this was false. They then adjusted the price to 3,000 Baht PER PERSON (GBP 75 per person!) for a 2 hour boat tour of the market. Lovely piece of paradise in crazy Bangkok!

Lovely and amazing room. Treated so well. Only downside is the wifi was really intermittent but apart that would certainly stay again and recommend - my friend recommended we stay and couldn't have been happier!

Staff very attentive and helpful Centre of China Town and close to metro Close to river transport for access to sightseeing Only negative is the early breakfast times 6.30 am to 8.30 am

Wonderful stay! A must stay hotel!

This is the second time I stayed in this hotel. Love the location and the hotel. It's so vintage and spacious! They are very quick in processing the check in! The breakfast is nice. I would definitely be back again!

Stylish, friendly, clean and comfortable

The rooms are very beautiful at Shanghai mansions. You are well looked after upon arrival and greeted with warm tea while you check in. The breakfasts are great with loads to choose from. The on suite bathrooms are clean and big and the décor is very stylish. It's in the centre of China Town which is completely crazy, but the hotel provides a tranquil break while you recoup your energy. There is also a hotel bar with a live jazz band each night who were really good.
