Motel One Basel is a perfect location for anyone attending Christmas Markets as the lobby opened onto the Plaza where one of the Markets was staged. Transportation on the tram line was just across the plaza so having no car was not a problem. I arrived prior to check-in but the front desk is staffed around the clock and they stored my luggage until my room was ready. I would stay here again.

An ok hotel, but the prices for food and drink were outrageous - a carefully measured 1-1/2 oz of ok red wine for about 12 euro. Good location, staff were courteous, the room nothing to cheer about. We won’t be back.
