I was only there for 2 nights but for the time i was there I thought it was an excellent hotel all the way all the way around -- the staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel was in great condition and very clean. It is also in a convinient location.

Great location, great breakfast buffet. The room furniture was a bit strange. Two low bedside shelves only a couple of inches off the floor. You had to crawl around on the floor to plug in phone chargers on the bottom of the shelf. Of course there was an outlet on the desk with 2 plug pirts and several USB ports. The bed was comfortable. You have to walk up some steps with your luggage to get to reception, then down some steps to get to the elevators. All in all, a great stay.

First off, it’s a gorgeous building in the perfect location in Bergen. The Freschohalle and BARE are both exceptional, and the staff are great. There were some several minor room issues to point out however. We had a loft suite. If you are more than about 180cm/70in, don’t get a loft suite. You have to duck everywhere. The shower is open to the whole bathroom, so water gets everywhere. There is also a lack of space to place anything in the bathroom. The plugs aren’t in particularly convenient locations, and the lighting leaves a lot to be desired. There are no “do not disturb” signs for the door either. We usually like late mornings but we were interrupted by the cleaning lady a couple of times. I’d still recommend it, but it’s more 4 star than 5. Still a very good hotel.

Beautiful historic building converted into a grand hotel. Gorgeous junior suite and fantastic restaurants. Definitely a great stay in the most central area of Bergen.
