great historic hotel. I got a feel of the early 1900 staying there. Since its an old hotel, the floor boards were cricking and making noise when people were walking outside.. other then that, it was clean , very comfortable bed with soft pillows and very clean.

Quiet Gem Perched Above Cripple Creek

Loved Room 16! Quiet and a great view! Staff was friendly and engaging. They answered all of our questions and made our stay super easy and comfortable. Hotel is 125 + years old so has the usual creaks and bumping of pipes and still absolutely delightful. All we needed was a ghost appearance for perfection. Will stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were very comfortable. The owners and staff are very nice and helpful. We enjoyed the tavern on sight where we mingled with the locals heard the ghost stories about the hotel. Sat on the porch with our coffee in the morning. Just a great place to stay. Will definitely go back.

Nice stay

Stayed one night after a day of hiking. Hotel has a rich history dating back to the late 1800’s, so I could really appreciate the efforts taken to preserve the authenticity of the building. Room was clean, beds were comfortable and enjoyed the stay. Owner was very nice and accommodating, and really enjoyed our conversation about the hotel. It is within walking distance to Main Street to access casinos and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

The building itself is stunning. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was amazing as well as our view. We met the owners and they were very kind as well as gave us lots of information about the property and the area. We had such a lovely and memorable vacation weekend in Cripple Creek, and it was all thanks to the incredible hospitality of the owners and staff at Hotel St. Nicholas. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The hotel is a beautiful blend of history and comfort—each room thoughtfully renovated to reflect the charm of its past while offering all the modern touches you need for a relaxing stay. The atmosphere was peaceful and quiet, which made it the perfect place for us to unwind, read, and truly relax. The owners were not only gracious hosts but genuinely kind people who went out of their way to make sure our stay was special. Their warmth and attention to detail created an experience we won’t forget. Thank you for giving us such a peaceful, restorative weekend. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Nice beds, terrible attention to customers.

Check-in was handled poorly; the person assisting was very rude. There was such a small amount of space that the coffee station had to be in the bathroom. On that night, there was a lot of noise! Footsteps and voices of people were audible from outside the room. Actually, someone attempted to open the door of the room on a certain occasion. To wrap things up, this lovely experience I spoke of included a breakfast that was entirely cold, kept in a refrigerator and open for everyone to touch, resulting in it looking quite unappealing. I have booked hotels for $70 and $300, and it makes sense that the service and amenities reflect the price you pay. The bedroom was clean and the beds felt nice. But honestly, this place was disappointing in both attention and care.

This was our second year staying at this property for NYE, check in was smooth, the rooms are so charming and the staff super friendly. They had snacks in the bar on NYE and the continental breakfast has a fair number of options.
