Breakfast was not available. Our room was mediocre and hot. Im pretty sure our room was wrong due to a person training. The inns were beautiful, i wish the room offered more to match the high price.

We booked this in August for the late December. One of the amenities we look for is a free continental breakfast, which this place had and was highly rated. We received an email FOUR days before check in stating that they are no longer serving breakfast. Not giving us enough time to find somewhere else to stay without paying a fortune. Pros: -Every member of the staff we interacted with was really nice! -Room was a comfortable temperature and stayed that way during the duration of our stay. -Water cooler in entryway that can do hot or cold. Plus a Keurig. -Great water pressure as long as you're an early bird. Otherwise the water pressure and temperature fluctuates by quite a bit. -Great location! 10-15 minutes (at most) away from a majority of the places we visited. -Quiet street, little to no road noise with only rare sirens being heard. Cons: -The house we stayed in did not have a door directly from the parking lot. You had to walk with all your luggage up the side of the house and use a walkway to get to the front door. The walkaway to the house we stayed in wasn't a solid path and was very uneven. -Stains on the carpet everywhere. -The room we stayed in was on the 1st floor and directly to the right as soon as you stepped in to the entry way. The crack under the double doors to our room is huge. -Noise carries throughout the building. -The mattress was uneven and very soft. -Only one outlet could hold a standard phone charger.

Nice size room. Comfortable beds. Dingy carpet. No refrigerator. No ice bucket. No hangers in the closet (was resolved) and no wine key. If you bring wine be sure to have an opener. It's a charming old building but could use an update or two. Complimentary coffee and pastries are a nice touch. Overall experience 8/10

The room was clean, but worn and it was not possible to control the heat. There was no breakfast, which from the website I thought there would be. I have stayed here many time over at least a dozen years, but the property is really getting run down and the magic atmosphere is no longer there.

I didn’t actually get to stay there. We parked there at noon and were told we could check in after 3 (as expected). When we returned at 6 we were told that we had to be moved to another hotel due to plumbing problems in our reserved room. We were also told that an email had been sent 6 hours earlier (though I had no email from the hotel. I even checked Hotels.com messages. Nothing.) We were assured that the new hotel was an “upgrade”. The new hotel (The Siren) was no upgrade. No onsite parking, in downtown Detroit which was not our desired location, had to climb a spiral staircase to get to an uncomfortable bed in a loft, the world’s most unsuitable sofa in the tiny living area, and no mini fridge. I know, first world problems, but this is not what we paid for. So maybe the Ferry Inn is delightful. I’ll never know. We should have been offered a refund or at least a deep discount on the room at The Siren. I am very disappointed in the Customer Service from Ferry Inn.

This is just such a lovely property of four historic homes in classic Midtown Detroit. Very convenient for easy access to downtown. Literally a stone's throw from Wayne State campus. We stay if wife needs care at Henry Ford Hospital, or the Amtrak Train Station. Both literally 5 minutes away. Also, here's a hidden tip: On Monday nights, 5:00-8:00pm there is a "free" Community Dinner offered at the BasBlue house next door (on the corner). It's just something they do to support the neighborhood. And the food is prepared by a guest Chef. So it is top drawer. Finally, my only "minor" criticism is that the continental breakfast offered by the Inn on Ferry Street was kinda cheap. Maybe it's better during tourist season? I heard ownership just changed over, maybe they are still pulling together. Note to Inn on Ferry - you guys should partner with your neighbors at BasBlue, since they serve a wonderful hot breakfast. Just a thought??? We do LOVE The Inn on Ferry Street!!!

No adjustable heat in the rooms and it was set at 62 degrees in November. I was in the room for a half hour booking another hotel and they charged me for the entire night. Very unprofessional and misleading.
