Got the Job Done with some Asterisks

The hotel was underwhelming. The bad: I asked for a big bed but got two small ones smushed together. The warm water stopped working one day with no notice. I left for the afternoon and when I came back at night the bathroom was flooded because they fixed the water and my shower flipped on. The thermostat could not be changed, so the room was warmer than I would’ve liked. The good: service was very good, and the breakfast was great. Other things to consider: the location was just ok. Close to some nice cafes and things to do but not walkable to the old town, nor did it have a good view of the old town or water. The pool also was underwhelming.

The property was modern, clean and had an excellent breakfast buffet. Very friendly staff. It's on a hill above the ferry terminal. The steps were a little difficult to negotiate for my wife who had a recent knee surgery.

The best part of our stay at the Berkeley Hotel was the incredible staff. They were warm, helpful, and consistently went above and beyond—whether it was making a last-minute dinner reservation for us or literally running after us in the street when we took a wrong turn. Their kindness truly made our experience feel personal and cared for. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, though ours did have two hand soaps but no shampoo—not sure if that’s typical or just a one-off. Breakfast was included and very good, with plenty of options to start the day. While we may choose a hotel closer to the water on a future visit, the Berkeley was perfect for our goal of being in the heart of the city. Dubrovnik is beautiful, and this was a great base for exploring it.

Good proximity to the port for cruise arrivals or departures. If you have the Dubrovnik Pass you get free bus passes and have a short 1 minute walk to the bus stop and a 10 minute bus ride to the old town. There are some good restaurants on the street facing the port. Breakfast is good and the coffee is wonderful. Hotel is kept very clean and the employees are very attentive. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

One of my fave hotels.

Absolutely lovely hotel with extremely helpful staff and a fabulous breakfast included. The rooms were stunning with lovely views. Onsite parking also. We could not fault this place at all.

The location was great, close to the ferry terminal, bus stations and local stores and restaurants and few minutes by bus to the old town. The hotel and room were clean with a nice pool and above all the staff were exceptionally friendly, kind, and helpful.

Clean, comfortable, and very friendly. Perfect spot if you want a hotel close to the ferry two blocks away) and near Old Town/City Walls (I walked, but there is also a bus stop within steps of the hotel and an Uber was only $10). I was only in Dubrovnik for one night and was able to accomplish everything I wanted to do from this location, with a great night of sleep!

Staff are excellent. Bathroom was not very clean. There was dirt behind the door that remained all week. Mugs were not washed/changed after use. Clean towels were left but used ones not always removed.

The desk and breakfast staff were amazing. The room was modern and comfy and had a deck looking at the water. The breakfast was gourmet. Best breakfast we have ever seen at a hotel. Meats and cheese and fresh bread and scrambled eggs or poached eggs, fresh fruit and even yummy desserts. Fresh made espresso served to you.

If you are going on a cruise from Port Gruz, the Berkeley Hotel is perfectly located. Down a flight of (many) stairs is the port area with shops, restaurants, and ATMs.
