This property is right next door to the Pier and the Boardwalk shops, as well as the Gularium. Close drive to Destin and other locations as well. The only thing that we had a small issue with is the air conditioning unit was pretty loud.

Favorite beachside hotel

We love staying at the island. It’s our go to hotel in that area. We always recommend it to friends/family visiting the Destin/Ft Walton area. Always a good time when staying there.

Overall great stay . Although our 1st room 272 had an issue with the door lock . We keep getting locked out and having to go to the front desk for a new key until they realized their was something wrong with the key pad. They ended up moving our room . to a nicer room , updated. NOT gonna lie, The 1st room I didn't feel comfortable in , gave me motel vibes. . - roaches !! Just an FYI coming from CT this isnt normal for us ... however out there with the climate expect to see them !! both rooms I found a roach ! I saw one enter by the door ( underneath) ... again ( common ) in that area, - S/O to the man at the front desk dark skin with dreads for allowing us to check in early and assisting with our pad lock issues. s/o to the maintenance men who go me in the door. DJ - Brent you were great !!! love the energy , resort had alot of free activity's . smores night, animal show, fire show I thought that was great . book a updated room !!!! staff- friendly , kind, main lobby very clean. 15 min from airport, highly recommend overall. great for kids, adults.

Our recent stay at this resort was unfortunately filled with avoidable frustrations. From the moment we arrived, we had serious issues with our room lock — we were unable to get into our room multiple times over the first two days and had to call maintenance repeatedly. The lock had to be replaced twice during our stay, and we ended up being moved to a different room on day 3 (our last full day), which was an inconvenience we didn’t expect while on vacation. The front desk manager assured us the resort fees would be waived due to the inconvenience, but those charges still appeared on our bill. To make matters worse, we weren’t provided a detailed invoice at checkout, nor were we asked to confirm or approve a payment method — they simply charged the card on file without discussion. We emailed to get a copy of the detailed invoice once we arrived home. The breakfast buffet was another disappointment. Despite the price, it offered only a few hot items and mostly standard continental fare — the kind many hotels provide complimentary. On the positive side, the pools were nice, and the quick beach access was appreciated. A special mention goes to Danny from maintenance — he was friendly, helpful, and genuinely apologetic about the issues we faced. We appreciated his efforts, even if the overall experience fell far short. But overall, these perks did not make up for the frustrations. Given the experience, we would not recommend this resort and will not be returning.

Very nice hotel. Clean, comfortable, great location to the beach. Bars and grounds are well kept. Main restaurant is decent but shouldn’t expect anything more than a hotel restaurant. Great bars and live music right next door so wonderful location.

We took our first family vacation here during early June. After doing lots of research about hotels, beaches, and family activities, many sites and people pointed us to this resort. We took a chance on it and honestly I am glad we did! I feel we paid a very fair price for what was included (we only paid for the basics) and got what we were looking for plus more. You really don’t even need to leave the resort if you don’t want to! Free family activities going on each day- Pool parties, dress up characters, scavenger hunts, s’mores, etc. although we didn’t dine there, there’s plenty of places to eat on site or right next door steps away plus shopping. The Gulfarium is of walking distance. Private beach access and there’s plenty of room for everyone. The beach was beautiful and we loved the pier. Every staff member from front desk down to cleaning was extremely kind, welcoming, and helpful. Check in was easy and they explained everything you need, i have never met such an outstanding resort staff! We had a basic room floor, but it was spacious for 3 of us plus beach stuff, and it was very clean. When we asked for more towels they brought them right away, with a smile late at night ! Pools were so fun especially at night. Next stay we want to choose a room that has a patio entrance into the pool (so cool) or a room that walks out to the beach access, as we chose a random room. Free classes from little adventures & free red flashlights from the welcome center - both steps away!

We are a couple with no children & chose this resort due to its central location for a wedding. GOOD: (older) Margaritaville vibe in lobby & bar area. Breakfast pkg - worth it for the breakfast bar (good), as there aren’t many choices within walking distance. Placed us in a room we requested (near the Grill in the jungle area - we didn’t get an ocean or pool view room) NOT AS GOOD: outdoor pool area has more of an old cruise ship vibe - needs attention, hard to get a chair unless you save very early, LOTS of kids jumping & splashing (this was June), including the Grotto Bar which was adults only. The rooms could use some updating but was sufficient. Food & drinks are high & just ok. Food & drinks are high. The room floor was very sandy when we arrived, (but was cleaned better the rest of the stay). Beach chairs are extra fee & ocean was full of seaweed so don’t spend time there or at beach bar.

Awful! There was drug use everywhere. Very intoxicated guests. No clean towels at the pool. Very rowdy crowd. We were going to stay 6 nights and checked out after 1 night. This place is for spring break. It smells like marijuana and old booze in the carpet of a frat house. This crowd was not family friendly. There was late night noise, partying. Do not stay here unless you are 23 and looking to get lit. I will say the individual rooms smelled clean and desk staff were very very nice.
