Amazing place

This is amazing place, location wise near to the ferrys, why rent AirBnB? You have this place with kitchenette, pool, bbq grill and tables to hang out with friends and very convenient near to the grocery stores, fast food and downtown gibson.

Great place to stay for the price and walkable to town if you don’t mind the hills. There’s a bus stop that can take right downtown and walkable places to eat. The outdoor space is smallish so be prepared to have limited privacy out there. We love staying here and will definitely be back!!

I enjoyed my 2 night stay and as a woman travelling on my own I felt very safe. The desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. They are in the process of updating the rooms and I enjoyed the quirkiness of the old and new, like the old fashioned kitchen unit which took me back and made me smile. I prefer to stay in the older style motels as long as they are clean and safe, in comparison to the no-personality newer hotels. The only thing I didn't like was that the area by the parking on the side of the building had garbage on the ground and was really quite untidy. Other than that I would stay again for sure.

Hotel is super cute. The rooms being around the pool area was a nice setup. Room was clean but outdated. Area around is nice to walk. Felt safe walking my pet late at night.

The staff were super friendly, however - the room was mess. Greasy drawers, duct tape appliances, broken faucet, litter everywhere. Tons of empty cans, dirt and broken trash all around the hotel. - found broken plastic in the bed, asked for the bed to be remade and it was made messily. - I would never ever complain but I also would never return. Definitely not worth staying here.

Great room

Everything was great until and alarm in the room started going off at 3am and we looked everywhere for it and then we found it on the microwave and unplugged it from the wall. So we didn't get a good sleep 😐. Cleaning staff should check for unwanted alarms for guests. The front end lady was great. I have a new prosthesis and can't do stairs so she changed are rooms to the bottom floor without any hassle

Gibsons July 2025

It was a great stay. There was an issue with the cutlery and faucet which i let the management know about. Immediately they took charge and they upgraded me to another newly renovated room. All staff are very polite, very welcoming, always smiling. They always came to ask if i needed anything. The kitchenette is really an amazing option for each room. Makes life easier. I also enjoyed the coffee from machine at the front, which was without any charge.

Staff are doing their best for service and cleanliness, however this lodge needs an update desperately… straight from the 1970/1980s! Fine for one night but happy we weren’t staying there longer.

In line with what a lot of reviews say about the property, and what we expected. The rooms are dated and there are noises that cannot be avoided, I was quite surprised how noisy other rooms air conditioners were, of course you can switch your own off, but you cannot avoid the others. As a positive, the staff are helpful, friendly, overall the rooms are clean and mostly functional. Location is good too, close to the bus route and ten minutes walk from Sunnycrest Mall and the Blackfish Pub and 101 Brewery.
