The staff are great. Rooftop bar with heaters is awesome. You can walk to temples and nikishi market-definitely go there for a meal. Self service laundry is a great option. Definitely would highly recommend it

À hidden gem of a hotel in Kyoto. I always stay here when I return to Kyoto. A beautiful, well-appointed entrance, and as you pass through the door… fragrances and music that inspired Zen, a modern, uncluttered decor with a beautiful marriage of wood in contemporary architecture, a small bakery in the entrance area where the you can buy a variety of breads baked on site and a courteous welcome as we are used to in Japan. It is obvious that the design team had all their talent and heart at work. The attention to detail to create a near-perfect atmosphere for all the senses…yes, all the senses…was very evident. From the fragrances of the soaps, to the faucets in the shower, the creative work was evident there. The well-equipped restaurant for dinner and my best breakfast in a hotel to date, the bread bar filled with products cooked on site. In addition, a roof terrace on the 6th floor with bar, sofas, heaters and warm blankets in the evening when the temperature was approaching zero.

Very modern-looking hotel. It's location makes many attractions on the west side of Kyoto very accessible. It is a walkable distance from Kiyomizu-dera temple. It is also not far from the Keihan line that gives you access to Gion, Tofukuji, and Fushimi Inari. Using their express train can even bring you to Osaka. Service for this hotel is great and they would always greet you when they are not busy. My only criticism is that food at their restaurant is quite limited and expensive. Though, the three convenience stores (7-Eleven, Lawson, & Family Mart) are also walkable from this hotel. I would be happy to stay there again when given the chance.

Beaumont hotel

Nohga was the best hotel experience I've had in years. Great location, great amenties and hotel design. My favorite part was the bathroom in my room. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto.

We stayed six nights for our first trip to Japan. Beautiful location and we appreciated the discounted upgrade when it was offered on check-in. . Convenient location walkable to many sites. Great breakfast buffet and the very best bakery! Staff very helpful with great English; we speak no Japanese whatsoever. Very safe area with some good local small restaurants.

Best hotel in Kyoto

Nohga was 1 of 5 hotels we stayed at on our vacation. It was by far our favorite hotel. The rooms, rooftop bar, lobby coffee shop and location were PERFECT. Everything was aesthetically pleasing and made us feel so comfortable on our stay. It also was incredibly affordable! Thank you!

It was litteraly the best hotel we could find, not i the middle of the action and not far away either, just perfectly well positioned. 10min away from most of the attractions you want to go to. The rooftop restaurant was amazing. You should try the wagyu burger they offer, i had to take 2 of them! There is a lot of choices of food in the lobby and a 7eleven 5min walk from the hotel. I would definitely go back!

This was the best all around hotel we’ve ever stayed at around the world, at any price point. Location 10/10, breakfast 10/10, aesthetic 10/10, bakery in the lobby was incredible. The rooms were very large and had all the amenities you could ask for. This hotel was so good we cancelled our next hotel for the rest of our stay in Kyoto and came back here. Can’t say enough good things about this place.
