Great service and location.

Excellent service and staff working here. It had a beautiful rooftop bar with excellent custom drinks. They have fireplaces and blankets available for the evenings. The on-site breakfast had a great variety of meals. They also have music in the evenings in lobby and it was just a great place to stay! It’s a 15 minute walk to the large shopping center. For us it was a perfect location. They had a nice art installation as well.

This property was amazing. It felt like a five star hotel. The service was ridiculously good, anything we asked for, they accommodated. Once our stroller broke, the lady brought an electric screwdriver and fixed it for me. When my wife got sick, the guy at the restaurant prepared to dish especially for her, and didn’t even charge me for it. The rooftop bar has a very nice atmosphere. They helped with all bookings that I needed to make. Can’t say enough about this place!

Our stay at Nohga Hotel Kiyomizu Kyoto was amazing! The hotel in a great area, walking distance to many of the top sights in Kyoto. The breakfast buffet and bakery in the main lobby are a MUST! Their pastries and bread are amazing.

Excellent in every regard

The Nougha hotel is excellent in every way. From the architecture to interior design and furnishings, to staff, laundry room, fitness and meditation centres. And then one discovers the wonderful bakery and cafe, ground and roof top bars that provide excellent cocktails. The crowning glory for me was the restaurant that served amazing food. I stayed in a few hotels during my month travelling in Japan and this was the highlight of them all. A cut above the rest. Please stay there if you can. Word of warning, you may enjoy staying there so much that you fail to explore Kyoto, due to the comfort it provides.

- they put me on the first floor which felt very much like a dungeon. This was try the worst and most maddening part. They put an opaque film on the window so I get basically zero sunlight. - the cleaning schedule means you are basically unable to relax after lunch. Going anywhere on the western side of Kamo river means you either risk a dirty room or being unable to relax. - the hotel essentially faces a large avenue which has only one konbini at the far end. Getting to any conveniences of a large city is difficult. If this were a more historic and picturesque section of the city that would be fine but it isn’t. We’re right on a major thoroughfare.

The staff are great. Rooftop bar with heaters is awesome. You can walk to temples and nikishi market-definitely go there for a meal. Self service laundry is a great option. Definitely would highly recommend it

À hidden gem of a hotel in Kyoto. I always stay here when I return to Kyoto. A beautiful, well-appointed entrance, and as you pass through the door… fragrances and music that inspired Zen, a modern, uncluttered decor with a beautiful marriage of wood in contemporary architecture, a small bakery in the entrance area where the you can buy a variety of breads baked on site and a courteous welcome as we are used to in Japan. It is obvious that the design team had all their talent and heart at work. The attention to detail to create a near-perfect atmosphere for all the senses…yes, all the senses…was very evident. From the fragrances of the soaps, to the faucets in the shower, the creative work was evident there. The well-equipped restaurant for dinner and my best breakfast in a hotel to date, the bread bar filled with products cooked on site. In addition, a roof terrace on the 6th floor with bar, sofas, heaters and warm blankets in the evening when the temperature was approaching zero.
