Hodson Bay Hotel

"Nice hotel close to Athlone, with the lovely scenic view of Lough Ree. The room was good, doors looked a little dated but nothing wrong with them. There are newer rooms are the far end of the building so they may be slowly upgrading them. Pool was nice and wasn't busy. The jacuzzi could have been warmer, it was the same temperature as the pool. The food for dinner was nice but portions were quite small. We heard the table next to us ask the waitress "It that it?!" The fish & meat portions are too small for the money you are paying. You usually either need a starter or dessert, so maybe that's what they want you to do! Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and it was a served buffet so you could get what you wanted. Overall, a lovely hotel and would stay again."

"The pool, jacuzzi, steam room & sauna area was great, and a decent gym too. Had the salmon teriyaki for dinner in the bar and it was delicious."
