Unbeatable location next to Lucerne Station and Tourist Office.We had a Junior Suite (419) which was large but rather tired with many stains on the carpet and poorly lit - no ceiling lights and only 2 free standing lamps in seating and cupboards area. Newly refurbished bathroom with excellent lighting and good bath/shower together with 2 sinks. Pretty poor breakfast for CHF25 with consistently overcooked scramble eggs.

The exterior and interior decor is classy. The proximity to the train station and waterfront is perfect for visitors. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. ORANGE JUICE was the best I have ever had! There was 8 off us in our group with 4 rooms. A couple of the rooms seemed a little more updated but they were all fine. Our blind did not work in our room but not a big issue. The breakfast buffet offered hot and cold choices. It was very good!! The location right next to the train station was perfect and the main area of town was an easy walk! If we come back to Lucerne we will stay there I again.

The building is beautiful. Conveniently located right in front of the train station. Beds are incredibly comfortable. Staff is beyond helpful with dining recommendations and places to visit. Malik was very kind in arranging best dinner plans for us. A must stay! Looking forward to our next visit!

Fantastic hotel near town and the staff was great. Starbucks downstairs was terrific! Our room was also very comfortable but a bit dirty. Stains in the carpet and furniture. There were also old slippers under the bed. We also had to request new towels because housekeeping didn’t tidy our room. We will be back one day though.

It was a fantastic stay. Our room was amazing...top floor with a fantastic view of the lake. It was exceptionally spacious and the beds the most comfortable of our entire 3 week European vacation...we look forward to coming back!

Good w/Signs of Better

Check-in and auto parking with guest reception went very well. Location of hotel convenient to train station, lake tour boats, and old town historic district. Many restaurant options. Hotel was clean but dated. Could see updates in other rooms on our floor either done or being done so this is a good sign. The un-renovated room we had showed its age. Assuming this continues, I would have no issue staying at this property again.

The location of the Monopol was perfect. It is located directly across the street from the train station. It also had air conditioning which is a must for us during the summer.

The hotel is just right next to the main train station and a short walk from the ferry terminal. The old town and main tourist attractions are all within walking distance. Couldn't have asked for more.

If you book a zimmer suite and they tell you that you have been upgraded to a room with a kitchen, don't take the upgrade! 4 families had booked Zimmer suites (which were very nicely appointed with large bathrooms), but unfortunately for my husband and I we were upgraded to a room with a kitchen (not useful when only staying for 1.5 days). The bathroom required you to walk sideways into the room (as it was tiny) and there was no where to sit in a large expansive room. Overall the hotel is nice and it is in a great location in Lucerne, but be mindful of them promoting room upgrades from the best rooms in the hotel! Very disappointing!

The hotel was in an excellent location, just minutes from the train station. Our room was spacious, comfortable, md quiet. We loved the rooftop bar! Beautiful view and great place for a drink/snack?
