Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Malta Golden Sands
5/5 Excellent
"We had a really excellent stay at Golden Sands. The staff always went out of their way to be friendly and make a fuss of our daughter. The location can be difficult to access other areas of the island. There is a bus stop right by the hotel but it isn't quick to get to the majority of the tourist destinations, often needing 2 buses. However the stunning location of the hotel right on the cliffs overlooking the sea really makes up for it. It's so easy to access the private beach by lift so no need for walking loads of steps. The breakfast buffet is fantastic and eating breakfast overlooking the stunning view was my favourite thing. I didn't realise when booking that the kids club and family activities were all included in the price so that was a bonus.
Some slight negatives: restaurants are quite pricey as there isn't much else around so they can charge what they like. We came on April so maybe classed as off peak but things like evening music advertised on the app never materialised it was just sports on the tv in the bar which was a shame. Also, my main concern was the balconies. They have horizontal bars so I was nervous my daughter would try and climb them so we never used them. The balconies looked a little rusty and in need of some love but the rest of the room and hotel all looks lovely.
All in all it was a lovely stay and I would stay again as long as I wasn't planning on exploring the island every day as it takes too much of the day to get to other locations."
