Nashville has two Hampton Inns by the airport. I accidentally went to the wrong one, so I got a look at both properties. This property was slightly more attractive than the other one and was less exposed to traffic. On the other hand, they charge you for parking, which I thought was kind of cheap on their part, not to mention inconvenient because you have to pay for the parking in a separate transaction. Other than that no real complaints. Despite being right next to the airport I did not notice any noise issues.

This is a typical Hampton Inn with some big maintenance issues. The sliding door to close off the bathroom would not slide. It was resting on the floor, off its rollers. So shower was cold getting out. The refrigerator in the room was really loud and ran continuously all night. The elevators creaked and moaned like they were in need of repair. We would not stay here again.

When buddy and I arrived at 11 pm because of delayed flights, they did not have a double room available which I prepaid for. After 20 minutes, they put us (two grown men) in a single room for the first night. The staff told us to knock on the door to make sure no one else was inside the room. No one was in the room but the tv did not work in the room. The next day at about 1pm we were finally moved to a double room. The staff offered no rebate or free parking to make up for the mishap.

Hotel employee Dwayne canceled my reservation while I was halfway through my stay and front desk told me I had to pay the going rate for the night to stay, even though they had said they were “fully booked” for the night. Manager wasn’t going to be in until 2 days later to “handle” the situation. Had to switch rooms the first night due to room equipment not working. New room was worse, but we just stuck it out. Hotel was clean, but customer service and room quality was bad.

Very convenient to getting to and from the airport. The room was clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly. A shuttle service was provided that took us to the Opry Mall where we were able to choose from a few restaurants and eat dinner. The shuttle also took us to and from the airport. I would stay here again.

Everything about this property is par for Hampton Inn, except the parking. They have been warped into thinking people will park here and pay to ride the shuttle to save on airport parking by some towing company. The lot was not full, and the towing guy with the yellow light on his car was over policing it after like 9 pm. It's a shakedown that they don't want to do anything about
