I loved staying at the Civilian. As a solo traveller for the first time, I felt very safe and welcomed. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. I loved the chic and elegant interior design in the lobby and room. It really felt like you got a taste of Broadway and it's legacy staying at the Civilian. Would HIGHLY recommend staying there if you're in NYC for either NYC minute or a longer stay.

I had a very nice stay as a solo traveller. The screen cast didn’t work in my room and the remote was partially broken, but the staff was awesome and so was the location. Very comfortable bed.

Customer Sevice was great, its a great value property. We would have loved a few more draws for clothes. Great location for Broadway and Times Square. Bar prices are a bit expensive.

An Acceptable Stay

I liked the Civilian's price, which was good for midtown. I think I am probably too old to be their demographic, but the hotel worked for this trip. Everything beyond the room is essentially a la carte, meaning being able to check in before 4:00 triggers an extra charge, housekeeping triggers an extra charge, etc. The room was comfortable, the hotel felt safe, and for the area it was quiet. I enjoyed my stay. The room could use a little more illumination (one of the reasons I think I am not their demographic).
