I used to love this hotel…

This used to be my top of mind hotel in NYC. This time, however, it fell several notches down. There were no hand soap or lotion in the bathroom (I asked the cleaning lady, who said they had run out). One day I asked housekeeping to please make the room after 3pm, but although they agreed, the room was left unmade. That night I called for extra towels, yet no one delivered any (I had to take some myself from the cleaning cart that was stationed nearby). After I left the hotel, I realized I left some clothing. I called three times until finally someone took the time to check the room. Also, I unfortunately happened to visit while there was an event involving around 400 teenagers that were always noisily crowding the lobby and elevators. I was overall disappointed with this visit.

Amazing location—right by Central Park, shopping, theaters, everything. Couldn’t ask for better. The room was nice, the bedding super comfortable, and everything was clean. Great service too. I’m not a fan of carpeted floors. Also, the elevators were a bit limited for the number of guests, so there was often a wait.

There is nothing that would make me never return to this hotel, but there is equally nothing that would make me return without the rates being markedly less than others of similar kind in the area. In fact, I'd pay a bit more for better. It may not matter, but here are some small inconveniences that may make the difference for your visit: no coffee in the room, no small fridge, no room service, slow "down" elevators requiring a few times we took the stairs from the 12th floor, empty shower gel, no soap for the sink, tiny bathroom, and no temp control of the room. The window does open a controlled amount, so cracking it helps the stuffy air. The place was adequate and would be a good budget-friendly option if you also want to put your trip funds toward other experiences like we did with Broadway tickets, museums and dinners out to nicer places. The location is very walkable and right next to a main subway line.

Great place to stay!

Great hotel. Great location. Everything you need within walking distance. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Perfect for our overnight stay in the city.

The staff and the elevators are my biggest complaint. The restaurant and cafe were closed when I got there, I ordered grub hub and didn’t get silverware/ I called the front desk to get something and was told to come down. When I went downstairs I chastised for “going into their private stash” I know that the hotel was very crowded, the amount is time the elevator took was completely crazy Also my room was right above the gym and the dropping of weights sounded like someone dropping bowling balls all night

The Park Central Hotel is in an excellent location. Carnegie Hall, Central Park, and Broadway Shows are all in walkable distance. The hotel staff was very nice. I highly recommend this hotel.
