Checkin took very long eventhough it was about 830pm they had dozens of people waiting and only 2 people doing the check in.. then they told me my room was not ready and wanted to give me a downgraded room , i had to argue to get the room i requested.. they gave me one and there was an awful smell in the room.. it didnt feel like a room that was just cleaned.. we didnt have any other option so we just stayed... but overall very disappointed

The checking in they didn’t have a bed available at 4pm had to go back 4 hours later and still wasn’t ready. They are poor staff. The staff try their best to accommodate but need more people. Waited 45 minutes for an elevator. My experience in that hotel was bad dont recommended.

Beds Comfortable but Slow Elevator System

The hotel was lovely. Located centrally, clean rooms and very comfortable beds. However, one of my main complaints is that, there is no place to sit in the lobby. This may be because the front entrance is under construction. There is a Starbucks, but after 3 pm it becomes a bar where you have to order something in order to sit down at one of the tables. Also, the hotel was very busy. The line to check in and pick up our keys was incredibly long and the elevators could not effectively handle the crowds at certain times of day such as, 8 am, noon and 5-7pm. It would take up to 20 minutes just to get an elevator to come to the 14th floor to take us to the lobby. It became very frustrating because we never knew when the elevator would come. It is one of those systems where the buttons are on the outside of the elevator so you push for your floor and get into the elevator that is assigned to you. However, very often the elevator would be full and we would be left waiting for another elevator for sometimes 20 minutes. Also, we never knew when the elevator would come because there was no indicator lights (with the exception of the lobby floor) on the individual floors that would tell us where the elevator was. Overall, we had a nice stay due to the comfortable beds. We slept well.

Way too busy for the front desk to keep up and beds are really uncomfortable. It is in great proximity to everything u could need. The “voucher” they give you is a scam and you still are forced to pay the same voucher cost as a separate fee.

This place is always hopping, day or night the lobby is always full. The construction work happening immediately inside the front doors makes things even more crowded. The hotel has one, that I found, water bottle filler, and it does not work. Google maps incorrectly shows a 5 minute walk to the hotel from the 1 train as only the front doors are accessible, the others are blocked off. So it is more like a 10 minute walk. We were told that a $35 credit per day would be combined and could be used as $70 on day 2 of our 2 night stay. We weren't told that we would have to ask for that and even AFTER asking, we were still only given the $35 credit. But, the room was nice and fairly quiet. View was decent from the 36th floor. Staff was nice and accommodating.

The location was great and the desk staff was good. The lobby is under renovation so the 7th Ave exits are closed- actually a little unnerving. The elevators are very slow but there is a security system that seems to work so it is a trade-off of convenience and speed for safety. Even leaving a floor there was a lengthy wait for an elevator. The rooms are clean and some items, such as the bedside plugs, are showing wear and didn’t see to work.
