Got locked out of hotel due to an issue by maintenance. It was freezing out. The breakfast was only bread and spoiled yogurt. Rats running around the outside door. I will say the property was extremely clean on the inside and always smelled clean. The staff was decent for the most part.

Very clean scented. Room is tiny per reviews. Restaurant was a disappointment. We were told 5 minutes to be seated and then we waited like 20 minutes. The food arrived as we were in the middle of our meal. We were asked if we can move from our table to accommodate another party. I absolutely did not move as it was cold enough. Had I done that my food would have froze from the time I would have walked to the new table. I feel that that was very disrespectful and rude. Also continental breakfast starts at 6:30 in the morning and danish's and bagels were out. The man was just still bringing in stuff and for some reason he felt like he needed to bring the eggs an hour or two later so I had to wait around for that. He was also rude when I asked about the time he was supposed to start and he said he can come in whenever he feels like because he leaves there at 10:00 at night. I did let him know that that was not my problem. It was a problem between them and and the hotel but I would definitely make a note on my review about it. The check in staff was very friendly and helpful. Had a smIle on her face. The morning gal was not friendly. I had asked for coffee in the morning and then again later in the afternoon and when I asked her in the afternoon she asked me didn't I give you this morning? I said yeah and I need some now too. Otherwise it was alright for the purpose of needing a place to stay to visit family in NY. We did check out a day earlier to beat after snow storm traffic.

The Hotel is very nice and the staff is very friendly. There are many stores located within walking distance. The room was small but very efficient. The breakfast is awesome, it has boiled eggs, orange juice, coffee, bagel, waffle, etc. The best part is Rosa's, a restaurant and bar which is located at the hotel and you get a 15% discount if you stay at the hotel and I made sure I took full advantage of it, LOL. The food was excellent at Rosa's and I had the best fish (Nimo) twice during my stay and I had the best mojitos as well. Let's not forget , if you are not shy, you can strike a conversation with other friendly customers at the bar. The restaurant staff is awesome and some of them are bilingual, the chef is awesome for preparing such delicious meals. The bartender is awesome and on point and I must say that she gets the drinks to perfection. I will try to brush on my Spanish next time, so I can fit in at ease. I look forward to stay at the Wingate in the future. Again, this was my experience and yours might be different.

EVERYTHING!!! Excellent Location!!!!!!!!The room was small but very clean, functional and modern, but no microwave. I appreciated the breakfast options, and the staff was the best thing about the hotel as they were friendly and helpful. Returning to my old neighborhood near Brook Avenue, 3rd Ave., and 138th St. was memorable. The hotel where I stayed had Rosa’s at Park where the ambiance at the venue was superb —the food truly outstanding. The atmosphere was lively, filled with happy patrons, creating a real sense of community. When I realized that it was Rosa behind the bar it was the next day. For sure I will be back and get me a selfie with Rosa…hopefully. Rosa’s at Park represents the new way in which we enjoy hotel entertainment and fine dining right here in the Bronx. Old school meets hotel swank!!!
