There are many negatives we had experienced, unfortunately. For starters, we had security come to our cottage our first night, because a noise complaint. I went to the front desk the next morning, only to find out that they went to the incorrect property! Door knobs upstairs were broken, lounge chair broken, and when we went to use the pull out sofa, there was blood stains on the comforter and sheets!! Oh, and we had to wait to check In because Housekeeping was there and inspecting the property, what did they inspect or clean??!!! Also, the fire alarms didn’t have batteries in them, we heated up a slice of pizza in to oven, which immediately started smoking because of all the grime left in the oven. I was concerned about the alarms going off, and realized that they weren’t even blinking which prompted us to look further and realize that they didn’t have any batteries in them! All in all it was disappointing and disgraceful.

Honestly would not stay here again. Upon arrival our villa was dirty from the start. Hair and crumbs were all over the floor. Tags of clothing from previous guests were left in the bedrooms. Privacy fence was broken. Sliding screen door to the outside made a horrible screeching sound when opening and closing that it detoured us from even using the back patio. Upstairs sink in master bath was clogged and shower tub in guest bath was clogged which was a total unconvince when bathing. No instructions were left for use of WiFi. Paid so much money to stay here and was looking for a homey experience instead it was more of a headache then staying at a regular hotel.

Property was amazing! We attempted to use the shuttle service the first day. We call, made a reservation, was told 20 mins, we waited 50, the shuttle never showed and no one contacted us.

The check in process was a nightmare! Moreover, we were in the cottage...which we thought was a great idea. But there were ants everywhere , TV remote was Missing...the microwave was broken. We were traveling with kids so add that as a stressor... It was not what we had expected. I felt like I paid to be uncomfortable.

Island Feel

The resort feels like you are in a Caribbean Island. Lots to do, stores, places to eat. Kids loved the waterpark. It was a great value.

I have stayed in Margaritaville cottages/villas several times. Although the unit was wonderful, it was not cleaned properly. There was a sticky substance on the refrigerator ice cube choice and a pink smear on the wall of my bedroom and bathroom. I saw a few items on the floor that should have been vacuumed, not extremely clean.

The resort was nice, however our cottage came with a list of issues. Cleanliness of the cottage was a big one. Upon check in, the floors were filthy and food particles were left under kitchen counters. The upper level bathroom smelled of urine and was almost unusable the smell was strong. There were 10 of us in a 4 bedroom and no additional linens available. We discovered this at bedtime and my husband had to drive up to the main lobby of the hotel to get pillows and blankets. The second floor tv in the loft area would not turn on. One of the second floor ceiling fans made a noise when turned on high. The pool heater was left on so when we checked in, the pool was unbearably hot. The hairdryer only had one prong on the plug so it was unusable. We called about the fan and the tv when we got there and were told someone would come out. Nobody showed up so we called again a few hours later. Again, we were told someone would be out to fix it but still nobody came so we did without both the entire stay.

I’ve been bringing my family to Margaritaville Resort Orlando for the past three years, but this stay felt really different—my first time in a cottage, and honestly it didn’t wow me. Instead of upscale resort vibes, it felt more like a basic Airbnb: plain, impersonal, and not what I’d hoped for. Check‑in was fine, but the usual warm welcome and genuine staff energy were completely missing this time. I expected staff to at least check in to see if we needed anything, but we heard nothing—and that “guest spark” that made previous visits memorable simply wasn’t there. I’m rethinking whether Margaritaville will be our go‑to family spot next year.
