Relaxing autumn trip

The hotel was difficult to find and as the traffic is chaotic and the street signs very unclear it was quite a stressful experience getting to the premises. Once there, it was quite satisfactory for a three star hotel. The accommodation was clean and the views from our window were wonderful. Because of the thin walls, sometimes it could be noisy. Our bathroom had a shower which sprayed water on to the floor, which was annoying and somewhat dangerous. The food at breakfast was good and the restaurant attached to the hotel was excellent. The staff were very courteous and helpful.

It's a nice place.

The Hotel proudly displays its 4* status, and it deserves it. For a 3*hotel, and for the money we paid, it’s a bargain. There is another point of view; the kind of hotel it is, and its position, dictate the kind of holiday you have, and this needs commenting on. The hotel is lovely. Our room (111) was large, spotlessly clean, comfortable, with free wi-fi, a decent bathroom with a bath, and a magnificent view over the entire sweep of Palermo below, and the sea beyond. Quite honestly, the view alone sells the room. The staff members were lovely too: accommodating and charming. Some may find their English limited, but I know that the Italian for croissant is “cornetto”, so I’m an expert. Breakfast was adequate: no hot food, but plenty of choice, even though it was a bit samey, day-to-day. Lovely coffee, sherbetty orange juice, nice bread, ham, cheese, yoghurts, local fruit, cornettos (just 3 types; one “empty”) cereals, pastries. The restaurant is good too: plenty of menus to choose from, including pizza or an 18 euro set meal.(There are very few places to eat in the locality: one restaurant up the hill and one or two bars and small shops about 10 minutes’ walk away,) Free parking, and you can park on the road when you have to. Outside pool – not an option in February. Not a great hotel for kids. The room had a hairdryer and a flat-screen TV, with masses of channels, all Italian. Take something to entertain yourselves in the evening, unless you’re a fan. The Bel3’s position is both its biggest advantage and disadvantage. It was quite hard to find in the dark (30km from the airport) Tip 1: hire a car – you’ll need to. Do it from Britain – it’s cheaper – and invest in collision damage waiver additional insurance. Shop around on line for this. It was hard for me to adapt to the Italian driving style. They take no prisoners, and roads are poorly signposted. Palermo is difficult to drive in, I found, and the road up to the hotel, once you found it, was challenging. Tip 2, take a satnav. Even with its limitations, we would have been lost (literally) without one. We had a week’s package holiday, and there’s not nearly enough in Palermo itself to fill the time. So we explored. Sights are well spread out in Sicily, and distances long. Tip 3: get the best guide book you can, and a really good road map. To sum up, the limitations of the Bel3 are outweighed by the advantages. It’s really an excellent place to stop over, or have a city break, for which it would be ideal. We used the hotel as a base to tour around the western side of the island, and had a great holiday.

Hätten wir gewusst dass es im Novemer keinen Hoteltranfer ins Zentrum Palermo gibt, hätten wir uns für ein anderes Hotel im Zentrim der Stadt entschieden. Das Taxi kostet ein halbes Vermögen

Plussana mahtavat maisemat, siisteys, hotellin henkilökunta, suhteellisen edullinen taksikuljetus keskustaan. Miinuksena sijainti kaukana keskustasta, varsin yksipuolinen aamiainen, kahvin jonottaminen automaatista, laiska ja ylimielinen tarjoilija, joka ei viitsinyt pyytämättä toimittaa edes teevettä, eikä täyttää tyhjentyneitä tarjottimia.

Un hotel simple et fonctionnel dans les hauteurs de Palerme. Ideal pour eviter les difficultés pour se garer. Personnel accueillant et serviable. Petit déjeuner tres correct avec une belle terrasse. Les chambres sont propres et spacieuses avec un balcon. Tres belle vue sur Palerme.

Manque de fruits au petit déjeuner, Nous aurions souhaité des jus de fruits frais. Par contre la qualité de la restauration et du service étaient excellents.

Hôtel bien situé sur les hauteurs de Palerme. Les piscines sont sympas, le restau tout autant, le personnel compétent, agréable et serviable.
