Location was perfect, really close to Bastille Metro and within walking distance of a number of sites. Staff were friendly and spoke perfect English, which is always useful! Rooms are small but clean and the bed was huge. Cleaned every day, and has everything you need for a reasonable price.

Hotel close to many amenities
Pros:Close to many amenities like the metro,cafes/bistros/bars/restaurants and within walking distance for some of the hi-lights of Paris e.g. Notre Dame.
Location:The location was very good as there was a metro station close by and opposite the hotel there were restaurants and bars to visit.
We arrived at the hotel early evening and check-in was quick and easy. We were informed of breakfast times and other information regarding the hotel and its facilities by a friendly receptionist. Our room was clean and fit for purpose, to use as our base while sight seeing in Paris. We had breakfast the first morning of our stay, there was a good choice of breakfast foods e.g. eggs, cold meats/cheese, cereals, toast, croissants, rolls etc. coffee, orange juice and tea (this was not something I would request a refill of, as they tend to serve the tea with hot milk which had to be asked for), this isn't a complaint just an observation. The hotel was close to the metro station and within walking distance of Notre Dame and the Louvre. The array of Café/Bars/Bistros/Restaurants in the surrounding areas catered for every cuisine and pocket. Perhaps the only thing we had a bit of a problem was the heat in the room, we could not regulate the radiator so it was either "on, full blast" or "off, stone cold". Our check-out was just as it was on arrival, quick and easy. All in all the few days stay at the Castex Hotel were very good and we had a great time in Paris!
