We loved our stay at Occidental at Xcaret! The atmosphere was relaxed and happy. All of the staff were excellent and we felt so welcomed and well taken care of. The property is beautiful, set in the jungle with lush, beautiful grounds and an awesome private beach. We loved exploring, seeing the animals, swimming at the beach, hanging out in the pools, and spending time at the sports bar. The food and drinks were awesome, the buffet was outstanding! The location in proximity to Xcaret and other parks is perfect - we were a 2 minute walk from the park entrance down a private path. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay, and we hope to bring our family back to stay soon!

We were very impressed with how beautiful the resort is — the grounds are stunning, there are so many activities available, and we loved that you can walk everywhere. The variety of food options and the overall atmosphere made for a great first impression. Unfortunately, we experienced an incident that consumed 3 of our 5 honeymoon days. This situation significantly impacted our stay and overshadowed what should have been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We were especially disappointed given that this was our honeymoon, and we had hoped for a smooth, stress-free visit. We wanted to share this feedback in hopes that future guests don’t experience something similar, as we truly believe the resort has a lot to offer when everything goes right.

There is a very small man made beach. Very few bars and restaurants open throughout the day, the front desk staff are incredibly slow, and the entertainment was not good most nights. While the resort was "fine" I would not stay here again.

Grounds are amazing and original. Huge property so good variety. Excellent family resort. Food was average, and if you have allergies, challenging but decent variety, and the poolside restaurant was quite good. Breakfast staff were possibly overwhelmed as that was the only meal with consistently poor service. The rest was great. Rooms are noisy, so if a light sleeper might be challenging. I could hear the people in room next door through the light socket. Many rooms face each other so external noise can be a problem but they are over the canal, with balconies so that's kind of cool. Resort is close to xplore (could walk it) which was amazing and less than an hour to tulum, playa etc. Would recommend for families, but for older people such as myself there was a lack of nice places to go at night for a quiet drink, and the general comfort level a bit low.

Overall good, but the room cleaner broke my foundation, and trying to tape it together to cover it, no apologies made, make me a bit disappointed. The location is close to the parks, and special dinners are very nice

Smelled like mold, seemed like an abandoned room ,no hot water, the windows had no screens we got bit by mosquitoes. The bedding smelled a lot like mold.
