The first couple of days were pretty good, the staff for the most part are friendly and helpful. My friends had problems with there house keeper, not enough towels, waters ect were not being replaced. The beach bathrooms hit up kept and very dirty which makes it unpleasant.

We absolutely love the property grounds and the natural ecosystem that has been maintained. One of the reasons we chose this location is for the wildlife present on the grounds. Overall, the hotel is nice. However, needs some updating in the rooms. And, better attention needs to be made when cleaning and stocking the rooms. light switches and door handles were filthy—no fitted sheets on the beds. The bottom of the shower was grimy. Staff needs to restock rooms a little better—no facecloths or coffee packages for a.m. Food in restaurants was mediocre, but when cooking on such a large scale, one cannot expect too much. Staff were absolutely amazing!

The staff were great and the property was beautiful and amazing. The wildlife was abundant with deer, monkeys, iguanas, coatis, etc. Some of the building is showing it's age and could use minor repairs or upgrades. Our room was comfortable and had all the amenities. The only real negative issue we had was the temperature of the food at the a la cartes coming out just warm and sometimes cold when it should have been hot. The location of this resort being right next to Xcaret park with direct entrances can't be beat. We would definately return to Occidental Xcaret.

Sub par food. Lack of communication skills. Lack of urgency. Service was so poor. Delayed flights, delayed luggage. Had tickets for events i couldn't go to because of the luggage delay. When luggage arrived I had to get it myself. Servers couldn't answer basic questions like "where is the washrooms?" Was told by a concierge that ALL restaurants were closed at 6PM, which was totally false. "All inclusive" doesn't include room service unless your a Royal member, otherwise, it's extra with a $8 service charge? Question is......what will Expedia do about it?
