Hotel Hastal is a true gem in Old Town Prague and the last remaining family-owned hotel in the area. We stayed just before New Year’s Eve, and the location was excellent—quiet yet only a 7–8 minute walk to the Astronomical Clock, with the added convenience of taxis being able to drop you off directly in front. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality stood out. We were greeted by Tom, the nephew of the owner, whose warmth and positivity immediately set the tone for our stay. Breakfast was included and very good, and the hotel surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco and a cookie for New Year’s—a thoughtful touch. There’s a comfortable lounge and dining area, complimentary coffee and tea available all day, and even house-made liqueur and wine for guests. We were also lucky to experience the final day of the hotel’s charming Banker’s Bar before it closed, and the staff there were phenomenal. If you want to support a local, family-run business and enjoy genuine hospitality in Old Town Prague, I highly recommend Hotel Hastal.

This place is adorable and like stepping back in time. The staff was super friendly and the room was clean. I will say, in keeping with older buildings in Europe, expect the room to be on the small side.

Just made it back home to sunny Florida from Prague, and I wanted to share my experience. I’ll start with the only drawback: my transportation reeuestee from the airport to the hotel was uncomfortable. The taxi driver was a bit aggressive about payment, which made for a jarring arrival. That said, everything after that was truly fantastic. The hotel is just a few blocks from Old Town, and the staff were kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The rooms are small but charming and very clean, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent, and the hotel bar crafted some really creative drinks. I can’t recommend this place enough! Prague is my favorite city, and when fate brings me back, I’ll definitely be staying at Hotel Haštal again.

Incredible hotel, impeccable cleanliness, rooms decorated with taste, respecting old traditions and yet allowing all modern comforts and amenities. Staff is outstandingly polite and friendly and helpful (especially the lady at the reception!). Breakfast is a feast with lots of options for every taste, with local specialties and amazing bread and pastries. And location - perfect for sightseeing or commuting for day trips from Prague.

I highly recommend staying at the Haštal Hotel. Its location in the Old Town is truly unbeatable. The wonderful, caring staff are exceptionally helpful and accommodating. As a family-run business, the hotel has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The hotel offers free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and pastries all day long, which is such a lovely touch. There are also comfortable common sitting areas both indoors and outdoors where you can relax. Breakfast provides a wide variety of choices, including several nice options for vegans. The hotel is clean, beautifully decorated, and has a unique charm that makes you feel like you’ve stepped onto the set of a Wes Anderson movie. Truly a gem in Prague.

The customer service was excellent. When we arrived, Tom on reception was so welcoming. We asked him for some food recommendations and the two restaurants he suggested were great. The room was tidy and clean. We enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the reception. We also visited the 1920s/banker bar and the service was exemplary. Our stay was great value for money and would definitely stay again.
