The Graduate Hotel in Providence is a lovely boutique hotel located near Brown University. The suite is spacious and welcoming, almost like being at home. I especially appreciated the additional fan provided during this stay—it was such a thoughtful detail. If I had one suggestion, it would be to improve the lighting around the bathroom vanity, which would make getting ready much easier. Overall, it’s a place I truly enjoy returning to and would happily recommend.

The restaurants are not open on Sunday or Monday, which is very strange for a hotel. The carpet was dirty upon entrance to the hotel and again in my room. There was black mold on the bathroom tiles and the shower curtain was broken. The hallways and the hotel are extremely dark. The glass elevator does not work, so there is no sense in featuring it. The room was big and I appreciated the size and the two televisions,

It was unusually cold in Providence when we were there and there was no way to turn off the AC and there was no option to turn on the heat to take the chill off. That said, the hotel staff was very kind and brought us a number of additional blankets.

Beautiful historic hotel

I stayed for a quick family getaway before my son headed off to college. What a lovely, historic hotel! We lived the decor, the furnishings, proximity to ask the areas we wanted to visit. It was a short walk to Waterfire and Federal Hill. The only complaint I have was the instant coffee in the rooms. For such a plush hotel, it's below standard. Keep the electric hot water kettle, add a pour-over coffee maker with real coffee selections. Otherwise, the beds were so comfortable, it was quiet, the carpets felt clean. It was 2 old rooms converted to one suite so we had a living room and a huge closet. We plan to be back in the future and stay a week.

The building is definitely very old, but the rooms were clean and the beds were super comfy. The room was also very spacious with double king sized beds. We stayed for 4 nights and felt very comfortable. Housekeeping switched out the towels each day. The only disappointment was that there was no water available anywhere! I didn’t see a fountain or vending machine anywhere. I think the only option to buy water was at the coffee shop.

While I admired the attention to their period decor, my particular room was a bit depressing with dark brown vinyl wall paper though the art reproductions and decor interesting. The only place to charge my phone was in the bathroom, couldn’t find an outlet to plug in the coffee pot (I guess I could have plugged it in the bathroom) I love old hotels but this was very pricey for what it offered…

The staff members were great. Friendly and efficient. The room itself was giant and we loved the layout with the two king beds separate from the sitting area. I was really just extremely disappointed with the bathroom. First, the lighting in the sink area was sooooo dim! It was hard to see to get my contacts in, and forget about trying to put on makeup or dry my hair. The lighting where the tub & toilet were was fine. But that door couldn't close properly! It seemed like the wood door frame was off or had swollen with age or moisture. I tried to force it closed but then couldn't get out without having my son or husband push at the door from the other side! We ended up just leaving it partially open so we wouldn't get trapped inside or make a huge racket when going to the bathroom in the morning while others were asleep. One other note worth sharing is that there isn't great signage on the exterior of the hotel. We missed the entrance several times when trying to follow our nav system. If you use Google Maps to try to find the hotel, suggest you plug in 5 Dorrance instead of 11 Dorrance.
