Staff very nice and friendly. Room was great. Pool a bit cold. No food service at pool area, and only 1 bar. Food at the specialty restaurants 5 out of 10, however the view and service makes up for meal. Location of the stay, loved it, low key and quite, away from the traditional loud resort scene.

The rooms at the resort were very spacious and clean. Staff were friendly. Dining options were ok, however the quality of the food was not up to the level one would expect at this type of resort. Another lounge or drink area is needed. Because this resort is really out of the way, a shuttle service provided by the hotel would really improve the experience.

The quality of the food was very low. My husband and I had stomach aches every day from the food. I saw them bringing in gallons and gallons of what was probably GMO canola oil…. The food was also very salty to the point where I couldn’t eat a lot of it. The landscaping is beautifully done. The property and hotel is kept very clean and the pool was well maintained. The music was amazing. Loved their choice of music. We enjoyed the beach somewhat, although part of the beach is very busy with locals doing construction and a lot of boats for tours, which is not the most relaxing. The entertainment was good. the drinks were not too good…

We had a great stay. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was only okay. Can’t complain I didn’t have to cook or clean up. The entertainment was really good but be prepared all the shows were over the top too loud. The location was amazing but make sure to use bug spray right away. Many mosquitoes and their bites are crazy itchy. Overall a beautiful resort, the staff make it the best I recommend checking it out.

Let me start by saying that the resort is beautiful, staff are very attentive, rooms are huge, views are beautiful. But, the issue is the food. Our group consisted of 3 couples who have all travelled extensively. Five out of six people got sick, 24 hours of vomiting and diarrhea. When I reported it to the front desk, the resort representative denied there could an issue with the food and said it was because we were from Canada and we were not used to their food. Not true, in my 15-20 trips to Mexico, I have never been sick. The next morning I was approached by the concierge and she was very attentive, concerned and offered assistance. She committed to discussing our issue with management. During our stay we talked with several guests and most people had been sick for 24 hours. The local people are aware of this and we’re not surprised when we said we were staying at the Barceló. We watched the food prep at the main buffet, cross contamination, ripped gloves, food sitting on co7 tears not refrigerated. Not surprised that we were sick. The Barcelo needs to do better.

everything was great, the food never disappointed us, our room and so spacious and clean, the staff was alway on a good mood especially the bartenders at the pool !
This was our favorite appetizer at the Japanese restaurant Kyoto Shrimp salad !

Really a 3-star property on a good day. Rooms are dated, food is dreadful, front desk staff incredibly rude. About an hour drive from the airport so Makes day tripping into town challenging. Nice pool areas.
