Pros: The resort was nice. Food and drinks were good. All of the bartenders and servers were great. Many pools. Nice location. Cons: The room! Our room was very outdated. It looked nothing like what I booked. It was in need of new furniture and a thorough cleaning. The drain in the bathroom smelled terrible like sewage. The housekeepers didn’t change the bedding even when asked. Once they did finally change the sheets they did not change not the pillow cases.

Pros- bathrooms and common areas were always well kept and clean. Cevicheria was delicious and will be about the only thing I will miss. Cons- bring your own cup to enjoy beverages in the pool, you are not allowed an open cup in the water or even the edge. Property is very confusing to get around- especially with a stroller or wheelchair. There was no guidance from staff on how to get to our room. The buffet food was disgusting. A la cartes were okay but again very limited for booking times. If you book the surf and turf I would recommend bringing a sweater with you. You are given 2 water bottles that you need to keep for the duration of your trip and refill at the watering stations, which again are hard to find. I can think of one off the top of my head. Would not recommend. Would not go back.

I loved the location and cleaniness. The hotel itself was beautiful, the enertainment was great. What we didn't appreciate were dinners - often cold food, very American, bland meals served again and again. In addition be VERY careful not to lose a room or towel card or it will cost you 500 pesos. The restaurants (you make reservations for) are not too impressive, but if you don't mind hard churros and cold food, you might be okay.

Canto del Sol is a good place to stay. It has its charm. It preserved its Mexican vibe and the looks. It might need some TLC around the building. It’s not as modern as it is but it’s always clean. I see people always cleaning the building, the washroom especially.

Great experience with the staff and the resort it self. Super clean, friendly and helpful. Beds weren’t very comfortable they were super hard. It was challenging to get a reservation for the restaurants. But thankfully the there was room at the buffet every night.

We booked the cheapest All Inclusive we could find in Puerto Vallarta, and after reading some comments, I had lowered expectations. However, our subjective experience was fantastic, with very few surprises. We booked in the Mountain section, accessible through a bridge from the main complex. We were concerned that it would be far from the main action, but it was a blessing. It was more quiet, we had access to a less crowded pool, and we got a west view with plenty of afternoon sun. Getting to the room took around 500 steps, so I ended up with 10K steps each day, a nice health benefit! The beds were very comfortable. We turned off the AC and slept with the balcony door open. We had only one mosquito encounter the last night, otherwise did not see or hear any for a week. Most of the food wasn't exceptional, but was very varied with lots of veggies and proteins, and there were always a few options that were quite tasty. The service in all restaurants was great. We booked the Italian, Mexican and Surf&Turf restaurant experiences for dinner, the latter was the best of all, outdoors at sunset. Two water bottles were provided every 3 days, and there was a water refilling station. There was some miscommunication around the number of towels we needed, we were 3, asked for 4 but got 2, then two days later got none. It got resolved quickly. The beach section of the hotel is too narrow and the ocean was rough, but we had fun walking along the beach. The pools were warm and clean.

This is almost a 4 star resort but there is no 3.5 star option. Was a fun place to bring my family. The resort staff were great and appeared very caring and clean. They are responsive and accommodating. Lots of activities to do or just chill and relax. Food was good and had some variety but my daughter thought it needed some salt. But you can always add salt at the table. Special/reserved dinners were good aswell. Pool was clean and large enough with a few other pool options if the main was busy. A lot of other guests had bad pool etiquette but thats not the resorts fault. Beach attached is nice and sandy and the water is what you would expect from the pacific providing great sunsets. Property is in ok condition and some of the beds were so-so but sleeps not what we go for lol. also, some blankets/sheets could gave been in better condition/stain remover. But its what you would expect from a 3-4 star resort. Bar tenders were great and were all able to make drinks quick and easy. Only needed a few to make an all inclusive worth it, if you know what i mean. Would probably go back after we visit atlantic ocean and recommend to friends and family looking for affordable option

Very friendly staff who do a bang up job keeping the place clean and the guests happy. I read the reviews and was reluctant to come but the place was decent. I stayed in a king suite on the mountain side. One draw back was the sofa bed...kinda had to go.

Pros: Great overall stay with Canto Del Sol. The whole property was clean and service was amazing. The food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was amazing especially that green drink they serve in the morning was delicious. The resort was about 10 minutes away from the Romantic zone. There were many stores and places to eat around the resort if you wanted to explore the city. Con: The only con I can think of is the walls felt thin as I could hear the conversation of the people next door.

This resort was picked based off the stars it had and those stars are very outdated! The rooms are dirty, the food choice and quality is very poor, we knew we picked a 4 star but this resort at max a 2. It was actually so bad that we left and stayed somewhere else out of pocket. Roaches in our room, birds flying in the desert cabinet, fruit flies all over the fruit/veg in the buffet area. Black mold in the bathroom, only 1 a la cart for every 2 nights spent, no hotel maps to show you around. Overall, this is a badly managed hotel that seems to be more used by locals than tourists.
