Good value with clean ocean room views, location walking distance to nightlife and beaches…2 pools but the chairs need replacing …wore out with no support! Also the wait staff at the pool restaurant need to adjust their attitude, their hospitality at times rude and the food quality very mediocre! All in all the location is perfectly close to everything. hospitality, at times, rude.

Although the room furniture is dated, the mattress was comfortable, shower was good and the room was spacious. I had a large balcony that faced the ocean in my Junior suite and it had a beautiful view. The location is excellent, and the pool and bar area are nice.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. My room was a good size and I had a lovely balcony and a view. The room was clean and there are many restaurants close to the hotel, including many beach restaurants. It is very walkable. I found the staff top notch and helped me with all of my needs. You will likely be charged a nominal fee for cleaning the room (I hadn't expected this). This is a very inclusive hotel and would be appropriate for all ages.

Right on the beach. You can listen to the waves crash on the beach as you sleep. The hotel is close to many great restaurants and a short walk to the Malecon. The hotel is a basic hotel with a great view of the bay.

We stay at Tropicana every time we visit Puerto Vallarta. The staff is wonderful and it is clean and right on the beach and many amenities in the area. Only issue we have, and it is every single time we have gone, you never get the right room. When you select the room they call the rooms by ither names compared to what you see on booking sites and ehen you show up the put you in the wrong room type, tell you they are booked solid and that they can move you but will take a day or 2. Very frustrating but it isnt just random, everyone we talk to around the hotel has the same issue when they check in as well.

No in-room safe, no coffee maker, poor TV-old and and a pain to remote. Rooms are old and dated, cheap restaurant small helpings, terrible beach chairs. Terrible restaurant coffee and pricey...opens at 8am..most have free coffee in lobby ...at least, no drinking water. The only thing I liked was the view....fantastic. so my opinion of this place is...so so....I would go back maybe...just not for 26 ngts. And special thanks to Esperanza and Ramone.

We didn’t get the room we booked and paid for . When enquiring about it, the check in clerk advised us to come back in the morning and kerbside she could move us to a better room. When we came back, she moved us to a better room, but slipped a paper to me with the words “tip” on it ! The beds are comfortable , our bathroom needed upgrading , shower didn’t drain properly and toilet was fairly old and rusty . Room was clean and cleaning staff are excellent . Walls /doors are not soundproof at all . The couple in the room next to us had a few loud arguments at 2 am a couple of nights .

My only complaint is allowing people to hog the lounge chairs around the pool all day. They put their towels down at 8:00 a.m. and then merrily went shopping or out for breakfast and would not show back at the pool until 2:00…. There should be a 2 hour limit on the chairs so other people have a chance to enjoy.

We loved the location in town and the pool was lovely. We found the staff got friendlier as the week went on. It was a bit annoying that guests went out early and put towels on the chairs even if they didn’t use them for hours.. we rarely got a chair at the beach or pool.

Booked at the Tropicana for the first time because we stayed next door last year and fell in LOVE with the neighborhood. I knew we would be near the beach and all my favorite restaurants but I didn’t know that this hotel also had its own beach club and restaurant for guests! We were *blessed* with a poolside ground floor room (if you can request a room In the teens you will not be disappointed) that had a super comfy bed and pillows. We met other guests who stay here every year and know the long term staff like they were family. We didn’t have to communicate much with the staff but every time we did they were wonderfully hospitable and kind, going above and beyond every step of the way. My friend was sensitive to the musky smell the humidity cause on the linens in the room, so we kept our air conditioner on the whole stay. Since construction was over, our stay was pretty quiet: from the bathroom ventilation you could hear the service station upstairs, but generally the guests at the poolside were quite quiet and respectful. 10/10 would stay here again!

This is the second time we've stayed in this hotel and overall, it's a pretty good option and I would recommend it. You can't beat the location - it's within walking distance to almost everything in the Zona Romantica area of PV and they have chairs on the beach you can use. The overall service at the front desk and bar/food service were also great! The only really frustrating thing I experienced is that other guests would put their things on a pool chair right away when it opened in the morning and they wouldn't use it until later in the day if at all. There is a sign telling guests not to hold chairs, but it wasn't enforced - there aren't a ton of chairs, so it was frustrating not to be able to get one in the afternoon even though there were many that were being held and not used. It's much easier to book this hotel on Expedia than their website (their website is pretty outdated), although it would be nice to be able to select the bed size in the booking. You don't know if you are getting two doubles or a king until you arrive.
