The hotel stands completely on its own with the hills in the distance along with a waterfall. It was very quiet. The rooms are simple but comfortable. The breakfast was good with waffles being a nice surprise.

Hotel Selja sits alone in a vast, flat landscape with stunning views. You'd not think much of it when driving up to it, but once inside, you're greeted by warm staff members and cozy, bright rooms. The rooms were very clean and nicely appointed. We had a very yummy dinner there served on short notice and received with much gratitude. The breakfast buffet had everything we could want to start our day - it was delicious. It's a perfect overnight location for catching the early morning ferry out to Heimaey Island. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Arrived for my one night stay here, and my key was ready for me at the front desk. Breakfast was delicious (waffles, bacon, eggs, fruits, deli meats/cheese, cereal, etc.). Great spot in a remote area. The front of the property is very unassuming. The reception was always staffed and check in was quick. Rooms were good. Bathrooms were of an average size, but smaller compared to western hotels. Breakfast was convenient and tasty. Good spot that I would recommend to travelers.
