My family has visited The Nugget (formerly John Ascuagas Nugget) for over 40 years. In recent years it has changed ownership. The Nugget hotel/casino has a history of excellence in Sparks/Reno and I can honestly say they have maintained the reputation. The valet was excellnt, attentive and helpful. The check-in/desk staff was kind and professional, they have a Starbucks in the lobby that is open early and closes late and the restaurant (Rosies Cafe) is 24hrs. The casino and lobby are CLEAN. Self parking areas are clean and well lit and close. The atrium pool and gym are very clean and well attended to anf the pool is open until 10PM. I love that the elevators onky allow you access to the rooms if you have a card/key. The bell-hop that loaded our baggage at valet and brought our items to the room was fast, kind and professional. The absokute STAR of our four nights stay was HOUSEKEEPING. OUR ROOM WAS IMMACULATE. I travel with a fisabled family member in a wheelchair and we booked the ADA room (two queen beds) on the 17th floor. I MUST ensure our room is clean any time we travel due to my family member being susceptible to illnesses. I ALWAYS bring my own cleaning supplies and THOROUGHLY disinfect my room and INSP3CT EVERYTHING. I use alcohol wipes, Lysol, Ajax/Comet, etc. I even disinfect the mini-fridge and the inside of drawers. I CAN CONFIDENTLY SAY THIS WAS THE CLEANEST ROOM I HAVE EVER BOOKED ANYWHERE. None of my cleaning wipes had dirt/grime/dust on them

I love the Nugget what I didn't love was the woman at the bar, she just acted like I didn't exist I sat there, and watched her go around me and wait on other people like I didn't exist, finally when there is no one else to wait on after I started talking to the chicks next to me, she decided to ask me what I needed, I had already inserted my $20 into the poker game. She then got me my beer, and said she's being called over to the horseshoe bar this woman had blonde hair, and an attitude against people with color. By then decided to go over to the horseshoe bar a little bit later which was packed, experience the same thing over there with Max, he put me on ignore while I watched him serve people and then get them another drink before I asked a woman next to me can you order me two beers so I don't have to bother this man, he came back and says oh you got to wait I got hundreds of people around here blah blah blah, yeah but I watched you let the guy drink his whole drink and then he asked for a refill for him and his friends before he serve me not once but I watched everybody get a refill, of course I had already put my money in the poker video game

The staff working the bars were all elderly and could barely get around. Now, I’m not saying not have them work there, but have at least someone that’s faster to work with them. I think money was lost because of this issue. A lot people were complaining and leaving the bars because of this.
