This place was absolutely phenomenal. Clean as a whistle. Beautiful rooms and buildings. Nice copious free continental style breakfast buffet. Wonderful staff. It's in the middle of everything downtown and close to everything ... and also a bus stop as a launch point to tours and to the airport (taxis are expensive so use the bus unless you need it now). Views right into the Main Street. Bathroom was big and beautiful. For a $100 up charge they also let me check in at 8am and eat breakfast. Trust me it was worth it for flying in on the red eye. 5 stars all around.

Definitely will only stay here if ever again in Reykjavík. The room was comfortable and had all possible amenities and more - even cozy slippers and white robe! Breakfast was wonderful, and believe me, may be expensive in Iceland - so nice to have it included in your stay. And what a wonderful location- right in the city center next to a delicious bakery! 10 out of 10!

This hotel was fabulous and we would definitely stay here again. Of particular note was the very convenient walkable location and the absolutely fantastic breakfast offered every morning. Everything was spotless and we very much enjoyed our stay. There was no designated parking but I had no trouble finding street parking.

The rooms and hotel were very clean! Walking to shopping and restaurants was super convenient. The breakfast was small but had many options. The offerings are the same every day that we were there. Having the breakfast included was very convenient. The only “problem” we encountered was there was no parking. We had to pay for it daily but it is free 9:00 pm-9:00 am for parking. It was still a beautiful property and would love to stay there again.

Friendly staff in a well located down town hotel. Very decent breakfast. Duvets are super warm- too warm actually for rooms where you can't open the window. Pillows very soft and quishy so we had to swap one for a cushion. Harbour is a 5 min walk.

We had a fantastic time in Iceland staying at the Sand Hotel. It was our first trip to Iceland and we wanted a convenient hotel as “home base” as we took day trips to explore. We hope to return!
