Check-in was stressful. There is no parking or short term parking to unload luggage. Reception even told me we could get a ticket for unloading bags. Check in was below ground level (steps), therefore to bring bags they had to use an emergency exit. Only to use an elevator to the lobby, and when switch elevators to get back to the 2nd floor. Parking is a few blocks away. Street parking or parking garage. Street conditions (snow/ice) were terrible during our stay. So walking to/from the vehicle was challenging at times. Breakfast was disappointing. While it was included. It was only cold buffet. No hot items. Pastry items were stale. (Very unacceptable given the hotel bakery is attached) Hard boiled eggs did not peel easy.

We loved our family stay at Sand Hotel in the centre of Reykjavik. We were a family of five, the location was so convenient, the staff were friendly and knowledgable, the beds super comfortable plus I would highly reccomend adding the breakfast which set us up each day. When we come back from Sydney we will definately be back.

The Sand hotel was great - SO centrally located, we could walk everywhere from our hotel, and the hotel bar was cute and convenient on a cold night. Breakfast was GREAT and the staff were very professional and extremely nice. Our room even had a little balcony - so cute! Spacious and extremely clean and convenient. We would stay there again for sure.

Excellent hotel in the heart of Reykjavik - short walk to all of the main attractions, great breakfast to start the day. Rooms a little on the small side, but would stay here again.
