Room was well equipped and clean, slightly on the worn side and outdated. Got the view we paid for of the steaming geysers however was expecting a more modern room with newer amenities eg. glass shower instead of bath shower with curtain. Buffet breakfast was the highlight, everything was incredible and staff were lovely.

The charm of the sixties

There chose for us the worst room in the hotel: 1st floor, dark, small, looking into aircondition machines and garbage bins. Old, dirty carpet, beds from 30 years ago, old bathroom and toilet. They did change us after reclamation. But to put guests in such a room when not fully booked is a disgrace.

We were located very close to Te Pua and we had multiple tours there. A three minute drive got us there safely. We made full use of the facilities (breakfast buffet, laundry facilities, pool and hot tub. The only negative is that some areas like the hot tub were in need of repair. We still had an enjoyable time.

This is an older property with not very personable staff, but our room was fine, with a nice view of the thermal springs out our window and right beside the Whakarewarewa Living Maori Village, which we enjoyed touring. The breakfast was exceptional.

Arousing aroma

Get the real smell of Rotorua. This accommodation is very close to Thermal sites. Within walking distance of major sightseeing venue. Roomy, good breakout area to have a quiet drink. Buffet dining available which was good value. Easy parking onsite. Overall good experience.
