Beautiful place to stay. The grounds were so pretty and, of course, the main house was magnificent. It is a little outside of the city center so you'll have to take the bus to get to most things but there is a stop right outside the gates.

This hotel was more fantastic than I could have imagined. The view of the lake and the mountains was stunning. The staff were wonderful, we had great drinks and snacks at the bar each evening. Breakfast was delicious. I was worried about staying so far from the old town, but the walk into town was very pleasant and I liked staying in a quieter part of town. 100% want to come back again.

If you are even considering it, book it. If you’ve seen The Sound of Music, know anything about history, or just want to eat breakfast in a palace, do it. It’s not a cheap price but it’s not a cheap experience. You get what you pay for, and for that reason I think it’s a fair price. This was the emotional highlight of my trip and I’ll be sure to be back whenever I’m in Salzburg (which I hope is again very soon)
